Season Projections
A perennial backup for much of his career, Forsett finally got the chance to show the NFL what he can do in 2014 when given the full hold over a backfield, and responded by leading the Ravens with 1,266 yards on 235 carries and 8 touchdowns. Then in came Marc Trestman, an RB-friendly offensive coordinator from Chicago and...yuck. Not so good. Forsett only saw action in 10 games (suffered a broken arm in Week 11) during the 2015 season, putting up a rather pedestrian 641 yards and relegating fantasy owners who entrusted him as their RB1 to a season of mediocrity. Now, at the dreaded running back age of 30 years old, and with talented runners Buck Allen and 4th-round draft pick Kenneth Dixon nipping at his heels, Forsett looks to be doomed to repeat last year's struggles even if healthy. But for the moment, Forsett is still the lead back in an offense that can produce huge numbers from the RB position and, if nothing else, is used to the position of being counted out and coming back with career highs. A more than capable RB2 for fantasy purposes, Forsett should be drafted in tandem with one of the young Ravens RBs to ensure having a piece of the offense for the entire 2016 season, no matter how the depth chart shakes out.
