Strength of schedule is calculated from the opponents projected fantasy points allowed for the QB position. The best rating is +16 which gives the player the advantage against the defense and indicates an easy opponent, the worst rating is -16 which gives the defense the advantage and indicates a tough opponent.
His matchup against the struggling Seattle Seahawks defense isn't as scary as it looked at the beginning of the season. During the last month, Seattle has allowed an average of 228 passing yards and 2 touchdown passes per contest. Start Newton as a fantasy QB1.
Newton wrapped up the 2013 regular season as the sixth-best fantasy quarterback, despite some notable declines in his production across the board. Although Newton's rushing numbers dipped, he still finished first among all NFL quarterbacks in carries, yards and touchdowns (tie). It looks like a mediocre collection of receiving talent will drag down Newton's passing production again in 2014. Leading target Greg Olsen will return, but the team wisely let the declining Steve Smith (Ravens), Brandon LaFell (Patriots) and Ted Ginn (Cardinals) walk away during the off-season. The salary-cap strapped Panthers signed veterans Jerricho Cotchery, Tiquan Underwood and Jason Avant, which is definitely not an upgrade over Smith, LaFell and Ginn. They also drafted Kelvin Benjamin out of Florida State who should step in as the new No. 1 receiver. What about Newton's off-season ankle surgery? Don't worry about that. Newton has been playing effectively with a bum ankle for years. Unfortunately, it looks like growing pains with an unimpressive new-look receiver corps will pull his fantasy production into the low-end fantasy QB1 range.

How do you guys feel about Steve Smith this weekend? The way Moore played and seeing as how a rookie could play this week would you bench Smith in favor of Nicks or possibly Bowe in a ppr format?
Thanks in advance....
