2018 NFL DRAFT: Top 10 Mock Draft

The classic “Way Too Early Mock Draft for the 2018 NFL Draft”. The real question is who do I think will be picking in the Top 10, and who currently are the top names to watch? Let’s Dive In!

1. New York Jets

Sam Darnold (QB) USC

The way the Jets’ roster looks, I’d be surprised to see them win 2 games this season as it seems like they are trying to tank just for this pick as everyone wants the quarterback some scouts view is the best since Andrew Luck.

2. Chicago Bears

Derwin James (DB) Florida State

The Bears didn’t do enough this offseason to keep them out of the Top 3 discussion for the 2018 draft. This will be the beginning of their Mitchell Trubisky era so they pass on a quarterback and take a much needed leader in the secondary.

3. Cleveland Browns

Saquan Barkley (RB) Penn State

They have young talent, but they are not ready for NFL talent week to week. The Browns seem to be happy with DeShone Kizer and Cody Kessler at this point, so I have them taking a running back to spark the offense and help the quarterback out.

4. New Orleans Saints

Josh Rosen (QB) UCLA

In a tough division with improved opponents, I think they struggle. The Saints did not draft their heir apparent for Drew Brees this year, so they get one the following year to spend one year behind Drew Brees before being the man in New Orleans.

5. San Francisco 49ers

Orlando Brown (OT) Oklahoma

The new quarterback for the 49ers in 2018 will be Kirk Cousins. Therefore, they are passing on a quarterback here and taking a person to protect him and replace aging Joe Staley.

6. Washington Redskins

Lamar Jackson (QB) Louisville

Ironically right after the 49ers, the Redskins struggle this year with lacking talent around Cousins. Cousins says goodbye and joins Kyle Shanahan in San Francisco. Redskins owner falls in love again with an athletic mobile quarterback and takes Lamar Jackson to be his new franchise quarterback.

7. Jacksonville Jaguars

Arden Key (DE/OLB) LSU

The Jaguars plan to stick it out with Blake Bortles for at least another season so quarterback is off the radar. They take a player that can add some more pressure off the edge for their defense.

8. Los Angeles Rams

Courtland Sutton (WR) SMU

The Rams will evaluate that they need a true #1 receiver for Jared Goff after this season. Sutton will be that player here in the Top 10.

9. Buffalo Bills

Malik Jefferson (LB) Texas

The Bills I think will have a starter by the end of the season between Cardale Jones and Nathan Peterman and pass on a quarterback. Malik Jefferson is the type of linebacker that Sean McDermott will love to have on his defense.

10. Arizona Cardinals

Josh Allen (QB) Wyoming
The Cardinals did not draft their heir apparent to Carson Palmer, so they need to find him in this draft. Josh Allen would be a nice fit with Bruce Arians with his big arm and physical traits.
