We begin with a review of how accurate Vinnie has been against the spread 13 weeks in:
Last week was rough, as Dallas, Chicago and Atlanta not only failed to cover but lost outright. But enough about these NFC pretenders; on to the task at hand.
Cleveland Browns @ Pittsburgh Steelers (-14): Listen, the last time Cleveland traveled to Pittsburgh and won was October 5, 2003. It won’t happen on Thursday night because the Steelers are back to having, regardless of whatever metrics one uses, an elite defense that is daunting to run or pass against. Colt McCoy has played respectably in Cleveland’s road games, but will be trying to play through a knee injury and won’t get much help from running backs Peyton Hillis or Chris Ogbonnaya. It won’t happen on Thursday because Pittsburgh will string up a great many points on the board, as much Rashard Mendenhall‘s doing as anyone. The Steelers own these guys at Heinz Field, which happens to be where they’ve gone 4-2 against the spread this season.
Gimme the Steelers minus the points.
