START/BENCH: Week 16

QB_Ben_Roethlisberger_PIT_1

The Steelers will be looking to take out the frustrations for that loss on the Houston Texans on Christmas night – the same Houston Texans who have given up the most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks in 2017.

IDP WAIVER WIRE: Week 16

LB_Nick_Kwiatkoski_CHI_1

Kwiatkoski and Chicago might actually get a win this Sunday – Chicago plays winless Cleveland at Soldier Field. Cleveland may be a dumpster fire, but it has been giving up fantasy points to linebackers in bunches all season long.

RB_Kenyan_Drake_MIA_1

Drake has emerged as a featured back for the Dolphins and could be a hot fantasy commodity in 2018. He just scorched the Patriots for almost 200 total yards and draws a Bills team this week allowing the most fantasy points per game to running backs.

IDP WAIVER WIRE: Week 15

LB Jarrad Davis DET

The reduction in snaps wasn’t all that substantial (Jarrad Davis was on the field for 84 percent of Detroit’s snaps against Tampa Bay) and the rookie’s coming off his best game in ages – a nine-tackle effort with a sack and forced fumble in the win over Tampa Bay.

LB_Preston_Brown_BUF_1

On paper, this game appears winnable for the Bills – or at least it did while it looked like Nathan Peterman would be safely on the sidelines. However, from IDP perspective it's an appealing matchup for both Brown and Ramon Humber – no team in the National Football League has surrendered more fantasy points to linebackers in 2017 than the Colts.

START/BENCH: Week 14

RB_Frank_Gore_IND_1

Hard though it may be to believe, Gore's on pace to top 1,000 total yards for the 35th straight season and is actually coming off a game in which he averaged 4.7 yards a carry against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

IDP WAIVER WIRE: Week 14

LB L.J. Fort PIT

Matakevich went down in the third quarter with an arm/shoulder injury that also appeared serious – serious enough that he was helped to the locker room with a doctor holding the arm and did not return. As things stand right now he looks unlikely to play in Week 14, leaving little-used third-year pro L.J. Fort as the last man standing.

LB_Tahir_Whitehead_DET_1

Tahir Whitehead may have missed a few tackles along the way, but he's been making them in bunches of late – the 27-year-old has averaged 10 total tackles a game over the last three weeks and ranks sixth in fantasy points among linebackers over that span.

START/BENCH: Week 13

QB_Marcus_Mariota_TEN_1

It's a big ask for fantasy owners to trust a quarterback with a minus-three touchdown to interception this season in a must-win game – especially when you consider that over the last two weeks Marcus Mariota is 19th among fantasy quarterbacks in Sharks League Scoring.

IDP WAIVER WIRE: Week 13

LB A.J. Klein NOS

A.J. Klein got off to a hot start and still leads all Saints linebackers with 49 total tackles, but after both cooling off and missing time with an ankle injury Klein was shown the door in many IDP leagues.

LB_Benardrick_McKinney_HOU_1

Vrabel may be pleased with McKinney’s play in 2017, but IDP owners haven’t been – his numbers are way down relative to last season. However, the 25-year-old is coming off his best game in weeks (9 total tackles) and draws a Ravens team Monday night that’s allowing the most fantasy points to linebackers this season.

START/BENCH: Week 12

QB_Eli_Manning_NYG_1

Eli Manning did very little last week, passing for just 205 yards and failing to throw a touchdown pass. However, Manning tossed two scoring strikes in each of the two games before that, and on Thanksgiving night he faces a Washington team that has given up the seventh-most fantasy points to quarterbacks this season.

IDP WAIVER WIRE: Week 12

LB James Burgess CLE

James Burgess isn’t going to pile up 15+ stops every week (his previous high in a game this year was seven), but the youngster from Louisville was on the field for over 90% of Cleveland’s snaps against the Jags.

CORNERING THE MARKET: Week 11 Streaming CB Plays for IDP Leagues

CB Kenneth Acker KCC

Acker picked up right where Mitchell left off from a fantasy perspective – his 11 total tackles with an interception in two starts ranks him second among cornerbacks in fantasy points over that span. There’s always a risk that the Chiefs will make another surprise switch at the position, but this week’s matchup with the hapless Giants is favorable.

RB_Kenyan_Drake_MIA_1

Kenyan Drake hit a home run against the Carolina Panthers in Week 10, torching one of the NFL’s best run defenses for a 66-yard touchdown in the third quarter. It’s the second straight game in which Drake has out-gained Damien Williams despite fewer touches.

DL_Trey_Flowers_NEP_1

Teammate Adam Butler lauded Flowers’ ability while speaking with Adam Gulizia of the Boston Globe. “He’s just one of those guys who is in a class of his own,” Butler said. “Some of the stuff he does, I don’t want to say it’s unorthodox, but it’s unique to him because of his body frame. As soon as the ball is snapped, he’s playing with extension.”

START/BENCH: Week 10

QB Josh McCown NYJ

Fantasy owners have enjoyed the improbable resurgence as well – McCown has been a Top-10 fantasy quarterback to this point in Sharks League Scoring this year, out-pointing the likes of Brees and reigning NFL MVP Matt Ryan of the Atlanta Falcons.

LB Denzel Perryman LAC

Before getting hurt, Denzel Perryman was a trendy breakout pick in IDP circles as the defensive play-caller for the Bolts. His long layoff makes him a risky start this week, but he should be back to playing every snap for the Chargers in relatively short order.

With Ezekiel Elliott's suspension, there's some question as to how the carries will be split between Alfred Morris, Darren McFadden and Rod Smith.. it’s Alfred Morris who has served as Elliott’s understudy so far this season.

LB Mychal Kendricks PHI

IDP STUDS AND DUDS: Week 8 IDP Start/Sit

LB_Eric_Kendricks_MIN_1

I talked up Kendricks last week in a great matchup with the Baltimore Ravens and he responded, piling up 10 solos and 13 total tackles. The 25-year-old has a great shot at making it three straight with double-digit tackles – so much so that it has overcome my usual disgust of London games.

START/BENCH: Week 8

RB_Wendell_Smallwood_PHI_2

Fantasy owners may be wondering why Smallwood and not Blount is listed here, and it’s a fair question. Partly it’s the expectation that he’ll see more touches in his second game back. Partly it’s the added benefit he offers as the Eagles receiving back. But mostly it’s that the San Francisco run defense is so atrocious.

There’s little question that the Falcons will want to get Julio Jones more involved in Sunday’s Super Bowl rematch, but there’s also little question that will be easier if Matt Ryan can keep the Pats honest by hitting Taylor Gabriel for a long one.

IDP WAIVER WIRE: Week 7

LB Craig Robertson NO

The Saints did win, thanks in no small part to Craig Robertson’s 11 total tackles and strip-sack of Matthew Stafford. The sixth-year pro showed he could be a valuable IDP asset when he piled up 114 total tackles as a three-down starter for the Saints a year ago.

WR_Will_Fuller_V_HOU_1

It would be hard for O’ Brien to find much not to like about Fuller’s last two games given that he’s caught four touchdown passes – including scores on both his catches last week. DeAndre Hopkins is no doubt Deshaun Watson’s favorite target, but the rookie quarterback hasn’t been shy about targeting Fuller deep either.
