IDP WAIVER WIRE: Week 6

DE Myles Garrett CLE

This writer stands before you a sad camper. In addition to analyzing both fantasy football and the NFL for a number of websites (including this one), I’m a fan of the game. An avid one. I probably wouldn’t be doing ...

IDP STUDS AND DUDS: Week 5 IDP Start/Sit

DL_J.J._Watt_HOU_1

It’s hard to believe we’ve reached the point where I feel it necessary to actually say “start J.J. Watt,” but here we are – in the midst of the longest sack drought of Watt’s career. It’s also a drought that’s going to end Sunday night against the undefeated Chiefs.

START/BENCH: Week 5

QB Jay Cutler MIA

Make no mistake – Cutler and the Miami offense have looked terrible pretty much the entire season. But if they’re ever going to right the ship this is the week. Only one team in the NFL have allowed more fantasy points to quarterbacks in Sharks League Scoring than a Titans defense that was just shredded by Deshaun Watson.

IDP WAIVER WIRE: Week 5

LB Kyle Van Noy NEP

Van Noy has been right at the heart of that mess, playing every snap and piling up 19 tackles over the last two games. Over that span Van Noy has been a Top 10 fantasy linebacker in Fantasy Sharks Default IDP Scoring, and Thursday New England faces a suddenly resurgent Tampa Bay offense.

QB_Trevor_Siemian_DEN_1

Despite last week’s bad outing, Siemian’s still a Top-5 fantasy quarterback in most scoring systems. The third-year pro should be able to get things back on track at home Sunday against Oakland. Oakland has allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to the quarterback position in Sharks League Scoring so far in 2017.

IDP WAIVER WIRE: Week 4

Safety Josh Jones GB

There was plenty for fantasy owners to be stoked about in Jones’ Week 3 performance, including a stat line that included 12 total tackles, 11 solos and a pair of sacks. The rookie isn’t going to post those kinds of numbers every week, but so long as he’s playing full-time in a role that includes a lot of snaps as a “nitro” linebacker, he is going to post numbers.

IDP STUDS AND DUDS: Week 3 IDP Start/Sit

LB Christian Kirksey CLE

Cleveland will be travelling to face Indianapolis this week without veteran linebacker Jamie Collins, who isn’t expected to be cleared from his concussion in time to play in the game. That should mean that many more tackle opportunities for Christian Kirksey against an Indianapolis team that remains a Top-5 IDP matchup for linebackers

KC_Alex_Smith_KCC_1

I give up. I surrender. White flag. Stop the madness. The first two weeks of the 2017 NFL season have played out like the Adam Sandler mega-bomb “Jack and Jill.” It hasn’t made any sense, it’s not funny even a ...

DL_DeMarcus_Lawrence_DAL_1

Demarcus Lawrence made an appearance in the first IDP Waiver Wire column of 2017 after racking up two sacks against the New York Giants. But he remained available in enough leagues for me to beat the drum again after he added two more against Denver. It’s only been two games, but Lawrence appears on the verge of finally fulfilling the promise he showed as a rookie.

Well that was….something. Here’s a smattering of the fantasy football happenings in a Week 1 that was something out of a bad Hunter Thompson trip. Sam Bradford of the Minnesota Vikings, Carson Wentz of the Philadelphia Eagles and Alex Smith ...

Tis the season for overreacting. Fa La La La freaking La. Every year since I started doing this article back in the halcyon days of 2009 (it was a simpler time) the first edition of the IDP Waiver Wire each ...

START/BENCH: Week 1

Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger Pittsburgh Steelers

Yes, Big Ben opens 2017 on the road, where he rather, um, sucked last season. But it’s fair to assume Pittsburgh will want to come out of the gate strong, and there weren’t many teams who were kinder to fantasy quarterbacks than the Clowns in 2016.

THE 2017 ALL-VALUE IDP ALL-STARS

LB_Jerrell_Freeman_GBP_1

There isn’t a more important word in fantasy football than “value.” OK, maybe the most important word in fantasy football is “championship,” but in order to achieve the latter you need to find the former on draft day. Lord knows ...
