Home / Evan Reardon

Evan Reardon

An avid Boston sports fan, Evan has been a Patriots and NFL fan since the 1990's. Fantasy football runs in his family. He grew up in the 90's watching his father and uncles play in a 6-team, Touchdown-only league. He has been playing fantasy football since the early 2000's and has been writing fantasy sports content since 2014.

VIP EARLY GRAB BAG: Week 15

RB_Derrick_Henry_TEN_1

Now THAT is the Derrick Henry that many fantasy players hoped he would be when they invested in him in fantasy drafts this past summer. Henry has mostly been a disappointment this season but had a fantasy performance of the ages last Thursday against Jacksonville.

BOLD PREDICTIONS: Week 14

RB Dalvin Cook MIN

In the four games since he’s returned from the world’s most nagging hamstring injury, Dalvin Cook has caught at least three passes in every game and is averaging 4.5 receptions per game. Expect Cook (who is Minnesota’s primary pass-catching back) to have his best fantasy performance of the season.

LIKE/DISLIKE: Week 14

RB Christian McCaffrey CAR

McCaffrey leads all running backs in receptions (80), receiving yards (663), is tied for second in receiving touchdowns (6) and has hauled in at least five receptions in all but one game this season. He is wreaking havoc on opposing defenses on a weekly basis and is primed to continue his incredible pace in Week 14 against a horrendous Cleveland defense.

VIP EARLY GRAB BAG: Week 14

WR Courtland Sutton WR

Courtland Sutton is still an unreliable option to plug into your starting lineup, but he holds high-end WR3 value if he can continue to see upwards of 7+ targets per game. For now, though, consider him a low-end WR3/borderline Flex play in 12-team leagues.

QB Baker Mayfield CLE

If he’s still available in your league, Baker Mayfield is absolutely worth a pick up for any team that is desperate for a starting quarterback or a team looking for a reliable backup quarterback.

BOLD PREDICTIONS: Week 12

WR Josh Gordon & QB Tom Brady NE

Josh Gordon has started to come into his own as a member of New England. He’s tallied 13 receptions (on 27 targets), 253 receiving yards and a touchdown in the previous three games and just had a bye week to get more in sync with the G.O.A.T.

A Week 12 Thursday Night matchup at home against an Atlanta defense that is ranked 30th in fantasy points allowed per game to opposing quarterbacks is the juiciest of juicy matchups for Brees and company.

VIP EARLY GRAB BAG: Week 12

QB Lamar Jackson BAL

With Joe Flacco sidelined with a hip injury, Lamar Jackson started his first game as an NFL quarterback in Week 11 and while he did not disappoint, he didn’t light the world on fire either as his performance still left much to be desired.

BOLD PREDICTIONS: Week 11

RB_David_Johnson_ARI_1

David Johnson had his best game of the season last week against Kansas City, and will ride that hot streak into a highly favorable matchup against Oakland in Week 11. The Raiders defense has allowed a whopping 128 rushing yards per game this season, which ranks 31st in the NFL through ten weeks.

LIKE/DISLIKE: Week 11

QB_Jared_Goff_LAR_1

The progression of Jared Goff from Year 1 to Year 3 is exactly what an organization looks for in their franchise quarterback. If Baker Mayfield can evolve the way Goff has, the Cleveland organization will be in good hands for the next ten years.

VIP EARLY GRAB BAG: Week 11

WR Josh Doctson WAS

Another week, another decent performance out of Josh Doctson. Doctson logged four receptions for 46 receiving yards and a touchdown against Tampa Bay yesterday, totaling a season-high 14.6 PPR fantasy points on the day.

BOLD PREDICTIONS: Week 10

LB K.J. Wright SEA & RB Ezekiel Elliott DAL

Ezekiel Elliott hasn’t gone for more than 70 rushing yards in either of the last two games. The Dallas offense has struggled lately and will continue to have a tough time against a Philadelphia front-seven that has allowed the sixth-fewest PPR fantasy points per game to opposing running backs this season.

LIKE/DISLIKE: Week 10

WR_Philip_Rivers_SDC_1

Four quarterbacks have totaled at least 14 fantasy points in every game this season. They are Patrick Mahomes (obviously), Cam Newton, Aaron Rodgers … and Philip Rivers. Starting in Week 11, the Chargers will face Denver, Arizona, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati and Kansas City, all of which are considered to be favorable matchups

VIP EARLY GRAB BAG: Week 10

RB_Duke_Johnson_CLE_1

Duke Johnson had his best fantasy performance of the season yesterday against the Chiefs. Johnson ran the ball just once for eight rushing yards, but caught nine receptions on nine targets for 78 receiving yards and scored two receiving touchdowns in the Browns 37-21 loss to the Chiefs.

BOLD PREDICTIONS: Week 9

RB Isaiah Crowell NYJ

The Jets starting running back, Isaiah Crowell, has been up and down this season. He’s had a few monster fantasy performances (Weeks 1, 3, and 5), but has tallied less than eight fantasy points in every other game this season. It’s hit or miss with him, and I’m banking on a “hit” week for the fifth-year player out of Alabama State.

LIKE / DISLIKE: Week 9

QB_Russell_Wilson_SEA_1

His fantasy owners would like to see him throw for more passing yards and run for more rushing yards, but let’s take it one step at a time and appreciate that Russell Wilson has turned it around as of late. With a couple more weeks of stellar play, he’ll start to creep back into mid-level QB1 territory.

BOLD PREDICTIONS: Week 8

RB James Conner PIT

Le’Veon Bell? Never heard of him. With Bell neglecting to report to Pittsburgh for what seems like the 20th time this season, the James Conner show will roll on once again against a terrible Cleveland defense this week. Cleveland has allowed an average of 26.9 points per reception (PPR) league fantasy points per game to opposing running backs this season.

LIKE/DISLIKE: Week 8

QB_Derek_Carr_OAK_3

Derek Carr has failed to go over 15 fantasy points in every other game this season. The Raiders are a hot mess in every sense of the word, and they just traded their best wide receiver (Amari Cooper) to the Dallas Cowboys.

VIP EARLY GRAB BAG: Week 8

QB Baker Mayfield CLE

If you are looking for a bye-week fill in at the quarterback position, look no further than Baker Mayfield. He’s a viable option and should produce low-end QB1 numbers over the next three weeks. Scoop him up, and if you have the bench space, you could always keep him stashed there as insurance just in case something happens to your starting quarterback.

BOLD PREDICTIONS: Week 7

Joe_Flacco_Dennis_Pitta_BAL_1

The Saints have taken a step back on the defensive side of the ball this season compared to last season. They’ve allowed an average of 25.1 fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks, which ranks 30th in the NFL. Joe Flacco gets to play at home for the first time since Week 3 and has a good shot at outscoring Brees this week.

LIKE/DISLIKE: Week 7

QB_Carson_Wentz_PHI_1

Since returning from the knee injury that sidelined him for the first two games, Carson Wentz is on track to duplicate his phenomenal 2017 season and once again finish as one of the best fantasy quarterbacks in 2018. Wentz has thrown for at least 275 passing yards, two touchdowns and has totaled at least 20 fantasy points in each of the last three weeks.

VIP EARLY GRAB BAG: Week 7

QB_Jameis_Winston_TBB_1

There’s no shortage of firepower on the offensive side of the ball. Considering the Tampa Bay defense is below-average, the team is likely to be in a bunch of shootouts, making Winston a high-end QB2 with low-end QB1 upside.

BOLD PREDICTIONS: Week 6

QB_Russell_Wilson_SEA_1

Russell Wilson has yet to throw for more than 300 passing yards in a single game this season and yes, he has yet to run for more than 25 rushing yards in a single game either.. but facing the Raiders is just what the doctor ordered.

LIKE/DISLIKE: Week 6

QB_Aaron_Rodgers_GBP_1

The quarterback position is mostly a “dime-a-dozen” position, but having Aaron Rodgers gives your team a reliable, high-floor/high-ceiling option on a week-to-week basis. He gets to face a porous San Francisco 49ers defense in Week 6, which is a highly favorable matchup for the Green Bay offense.

VIP EARLY GRAB BAG: Week 6

RB Isaiah Crowell NYJ

Isaiah Crowell is likely already owned in 10- and 12-team leagues, but if you’re in an eight-team league or a shallow rostered 10-team league, he undoubtedly needs to be picked up and rostered. Crowell had a career day against Denver on Sunday, rushing for 219 yards on just 15 carries, an absurd average of 14.6 yards per carry.

BOLD PREDICTIONS: Week 5

RB Matt Breida SF

Matt Breida’s 7.6 yards per carry on 41 rushing attempts leads the NFL among running backs with at least 40 carries. Expect another solid performance out of Breida, who is and will continue to be a solid low-end RB2/Flex play, even with C.J. Beathard at quarterback.

LIKE/DISLIKE: Week 5

RB Dalvin Cook MIN

Was Mike Zimmer keeping Cook on a “pitch-count” considering he was just returning to action after missing the previous game with a hamstring injury? Maybe, but either way, Cook has not looked particularly well up to this point and is hard to trust in your starting lineup until he gets back on track. It’s certainly a tough pill to swallow having to bench your early round pick.

BOLD PREDICTIONS: Week 4

WR_Antonio_Brown_PIT_1

Antonio Brown is going to break out of his slump (if you even want to call it that) and turn in a phenomenal performance vs. a Ravens team that he has had tremendous success against in the past. In 2016 and 2017, Brown played in four games vs. the Ravens and amassed 32 receptions for 428 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

LIKE/DISLIKE: Week 4

RB Marshawn Lynch OAK

Marshawn Lynch holds RB2 value in standard leagues and high-end RB3/Flex value in PPR leagues and is in a position where the opportunity for scoring a touchdown is quite high. If the Raiders (who are 0-3) can start to turn it around and get ahead on the scoreboard, Lynch will have more opportunities for carries in the second half, thus increasing his fantasy value in the process.

EARLY GRAB BAG: Week 4

QB Baker Mayfield CLE

He was electric from the moment he entered the game and completed 17-of-23 passes for 201 yards in the Browns first victory in 635 days. Whether or not he can have sustained success remains to be seen, but the upside with Baker Mayfield is evident after what we saw from him in his NFL debut.

BOLD PREDICTIONS: Week 3

RB_Jordan_Howard_CHI_1

Jordan Howard has had 29 carries through two weeks and has the pleasure of running against a Cardinals run defense that has allowed four rushing touchdowns in two games. This is the perfect opportunity for Howard to cash in on what should be plenty of opportunities inside the red zone on Sunday.

LIKE/DISLIKE: Week 3

QB_Dak_Prescott_DAL_3

Admittedly, the fact that Dak Prescott hasn’t been successful through the air through two weeks cannot be blamed entirely on him. Yes, as a quarterback he’s still the one throwing the ball and making decisions, but when you have a supporting cast of, um, cast-offs at the wide receiver position, it’s going to be difficult to light up the stat sheet.

BOLD PREDICTIONS: Week 2

QB Tyrod Taylor CLE

Tyrod Taylor has an outside shot to throw over 300 passing yards and run for 75+ yards since the Browns will have to put up a bunch of points to stay in this game. He needs to improve his efficiency but Taylor is an excellent spot-start this week if you have a starting quarterback that might not play.
