THE PROGNOSTICATOR: Week 17

QB Andrew Luck IND

Will Andrew Luck throw a ton and post a big score? Why yes, yes he will. T.Y. Hilton should be used here but there is no hotter team in football right now than the Tennessee Titans. They own the NFL's best win streak at four and there's a reason for that, they're playing good football.

THE PROGNOSTICATOR: Week 16

Lombardi_Trophy_Confetti_1

Have no fear for those that play in Week 17 games, we'll all be here next week too and while we run a lighter schedule though the playoffs, we'll continue to have coverage, projections and all that goes along with that very exciting time of the year.

THE PROGNOSTICATOR: Week 15

RB Saquon Barkley NYG & CB Chidobe Awuzie DAL

And here come the Giants in what will likely be a "too little too late" late-season charge. Saquon Barkley came as advertised, what a special player he'll be. There will be a decent amount of offense in this one from both sides though Barkley will pace the Giants.

THE PROGNOSTICATOR: Week 14

QB Nick Mullens SFO

I realize how silly this may sound but Nick Mullens is coming off a gem of a game against Seattle where he threw for 414 yards and had a 95.3 QB rating. He's been improving each week and with Denver reeling defensively in their secondary due to injury and this game being in San Francisco, it's a very appealing spot for Mullens and Dante Pettis.

THE PROGNOSTICATOR: Week 13

RB_LeSean_McCoy_BUF_2

The lines makers haven't caught up to Buffalo yet and still discredit them as a bad team and while neither one of these teams would be considered good, it's the Bills that are better than many give them credit for.

THE PROGNOSTICATOR: Week 12

QB_Matt_Ryan_ATL_1

Welcome my fantasy brethren to another edition of The Prognosticator, may it be brief. As mentioned last week, The Progno is away at a family funeral this week. He will be back next week.

THE PROGNOSTICATOR: Week 10

QB_Eli_Manning_NYG_1

While the news in New York this week was whether Eli Manning was going to man a clipboard or not, it brought me back to remembering the trap that the Giants are. See, Eli Manning will be started in exactly 0.4% of fantasy lineups this week but he'll throw for over 400 yards and everyone will say that they never saw it coming.

THE PROGNOSTICATOR: Week 9

QB Tom Brady NE

The NFL has been pumping up this game in New England where Aaron Rodgers and company come to play. Fantasy stats of the week come from the Green Bay passing game as they shred the Patriots defense; there's just no way to sugarcoat it.

THE PROGNOSTICATOR: Week 8

QB Deshaun Watson HOU

Don't look now but Houston is on a four game win streak and sit atop the AFC South with a 4-3 record. Perhaps surprisingly, Miami too has a 4-3 record but their tide seems to be turning from in to out. Even though the records match, it's a tale of two teams going in two different directions...

THE PROGNOSTICATOR: Week 7

QB_Eli_Manning_NYG_1

Here it is, that game" has arrived for Eli Manning where he either performs or is asked to take a break, perhaps a long break. See, the matchup is juicy and whomever is playing quarterback against Atlanta should feast. If there is a quarterback that struggles against Atlanta, then that's a problem and Eli either puts up a big total here or he doesn't and if he doesn't, bigger questions need to be asked.

THE PROGNOSTICATOR: Week 6

RB Phillip Lindsay DEN

It's interesting that the Rams seem to have developed an inability to defend against the run when it was one of their strengths coming into the season. It creates opportunity for Phillip Lindsay and while some may shy away from a matchup against the Rams defense, Lindsay makes for a sneaky start.

VIP GAME CAPSULES: Week 5

QB_Marcus_Mariota_TEN_1

The Buffalo Bills defense ranks just 21st in fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks, but the Bills have yielded the 11th-fewest wideout fantasy points. Davis is expected to draw coverage from talented Buffalo cornerback Tre’Davious White, which should result in a quiet game for him and lower production for Mariota.

THE PROGNOSTICATOR: Week 5

WR_Antonio_Brown_PIT_1

This is going to be the fantasy game of the week for points as both teams will be throwing with reckless abandon. Expect James Conner to struggle just because it adds to the intrigue and drama.

THE PROGNOSTICATOR: Week 2

RB_LeSean_McCoy_BUF_2

I may be the last writer left standing that is still beating the LeSean McCoy drum but here I am. If the Bills were smart, they'd run and pass to McCoy a whole lot, no matter what the game situation says. If they're not so smart, like last week, they'll actually try and win the game.

THE PROGNOSTICATOR: Week 1

QB_Matthew_Stafford_DET_1

I have heard some say that you can point to this game if you're looking for why the NFL's TV ratings are down. Why televise the Jets at the Lions in front of a national audience? Oddly, what's going to happen here is a very entertaining game of football for fans of the game.

VIP GAME CAPSULES: Week 1

QB_Aaron_Rodgers_GBP_1

You’re smart enough to know that matchups never matter with the must-start Aaron Rodgers. Although the Chicago Bears defense has been rock solid against the pass in recent years, Rodgers still skillfully dissects a respectable Chicago secondary with ease twice a year.

QB_Tom_Brady_NEP_3

THE PROGNOSTICATOR: Division Playoffs

QB_Tom_Brady_NEP_3

The Patriots will be up for this game and Tom Brady will be precision like. While the Titans are talented up front on defense the Patriots are arguably the best in the league at screen plays to all positions and that combination along with end arounds to their wide receivers will be tough to handle for the plodding Titans.

THE PROGNOSTICATOR: Wildcard Weekend

QB_Cam_Newton_CAR_1

I just don't get why so many seem to be dismissing the Panthers. I've seen many that are picking the Saints to not only win this game but to also represent the NFC in the Super Bowl and while anything is possible the Saints aren't on my list.

THE PROGNOSTICATOR: Week 17

RB_Bilal_Powell_NYJ_2

The Jets know that their only chance at beating the Patriots will come if they can run the ball. No other scenario wins them this game. They also know that the only thing they actually can do somewhat well is run the football. Another nice day is on the way for Bilal Powell.

THE PROGNOSTICATOR: Week 15

RB Jamaal Williams GBP

Many have asked about the wildcard Jordy Nelson and my take, he's a WR2 this week, a little on the lower end of that scale. I still like Davante Adams a bunch to play well here and for the Packers to really try and get Jamaal Williams going if for nothing else, to keep some pressure off of Rodgers.

THE PROGNOSTICATOR: Week 14

TE_Rob_Gronkowski_NEP_3

I do not expect the Rob Gronkowski suspension to have any effect, in fact quite the opposite, giving him a week off really only strengthens the Patriots playoff chances. Chris Hogan is expected back but until we see him at full speed I don't think you take the chance.

THE PROGNOSTICATOR: Week 13

QB_Cam_Newton_CAR_1

The most surprising statistic will be how well the Panthers run the ball, which includes Cam Newton as there will not be a lot of opportunity when he throws it. In fact, it will be one of the most abysmal passing performances of the week but Newton will make up for it with his legs.

VIP GAME CAPSULES: Week 13

QB Case Keenum MIN

Did you ever think we’d see Case Keenum at the helm of an NFL offense that ranks fifth overall and eighth in scoring? However, you should lower your expectations for Keenum this week since the Atlanta Falcons defense has allowed just five touchdown passes to visiting triggermen so far this season.
