DL_Kwity_Paye_NCAA_1

Landing spot is always a big factor in the IDP prospects of a young pass-rusher, but this year that importance has been magnified all the more. There isn't a big gap in talent between the top three or four edge-rushers in the Class of 2021. Where those top prospects start their NFL careers will go a long way toward determining which one is the top rookie IDP at the position in both dynasty and redraft formats.

IDP WAIVER WIRE: Week 16

Chicago Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky is sacked by Minnesota Vikings linebacker Todd Davis

It took a while, But Kubiak was proven right. With Eric Kendricks sidelined the last few weeks with a calf injury, Todd Davis has assumed an every-down role at middle linebacker. Just as he was in Denver, Davis has been productive, piling up 26 total tackles and a sack.

IDP WAIVER WIRE: Week 15

LB Kenny Young LA Rams & QB Cam Newton New England

The Rams face a New York Jets team in Week 15 that isn’t exactly lighting it up offensively this season. But the Jets have actually been decent in terms of fantasy points allowed to linebackers this season, and with Micah Kiser already ruled out Young should see an IDP-relevant workload for at least one more game.

IDP WAIVER WIRE: Week 14

LB Matt Milano BUF

Matt Milano appeared to get through the game unscathed and didn’t favor the shoulder. That speaks well to his role increasing steadily and rapidly moving forward — while A.J. Klein had his moments (especially as a pass rusher) while Milano was out, Buffalo needs its best coverage linebacker as it pushes toward the playoffs.

WR A.J. Brown TEN/ LB Deion Jones ATL/ DB Kemal Ishmael ATL

Two weeks ago, against the same Saints team the Falcons play host to on Sunday, Deion Jones had six total tackles and added a sack of quarterback Taysom Hill. It has taken much of the season, but Jones appears to finally be rounding into the fantasy LB1 many IDP managers expected him to be.

IDP WAIVER WIRE: Week 13

LB Troy Reeder LA Rams & RB Dion Lewis NY Giants

The Rams didn't get the win Sunday, but Troy Reeder was a force, piling up 15 total tackles and 12 stops in the loss. Reeder isn't going to rack up those kinds of gaudy numbers every week, but he's shown considerable statistical upside when afforded the opportunity to make plays to this point in his career.

LB A.J. Johnson & FS Kareem Jackson Denver

Johnson leads Denver with 84 tackles and ranks inside the Top 20 fantasy linebackers for the season. With a New Orleans team coming to town that has relied heavily on Alvin Kamara and the ground game in 2020, a Top 10 stat line in Week 12 is a real possibility.

IDP WAIVER WIRE: Week 12

LB Isaiah Simmons ARI

If Isaiah Simmons does get the nod again in Week 12 it will be in a favorable matchup with run-heavy New England, and if the youngster stays in the starting lineup he has the talent to be a real difference-maker down the stretch.

LB Robert Spillane PIT

Last week against Cincinnati, it was Spillane who played the most snaps of any Pittsburgh inside linebacker, recording five total tackles. That number isn’t great but Jacksonville is a plus matchup for linebackers — no team in the AFC has allowed more fantasy points to the position.

IDP WAIVER WIRE: Week 11

LB Alex Singleton PHI

Alex Singleton, who took the scenic route to the NFL via the Canadian Football League, now has 25 tackles over the past two games for Philadelphia. Gerry could theoretically return this week, but it’s not like he was playing lights out before getting hurt.

IDP WAIVER WIRE: Week 10

LB T.J. Edwards PHI & RB Ezekiel Elliott DAL

T.J. Edwards didn’t play every snap two weeks ago against Dallas, but he was on the field as much as any linebacker on the team and posted 13 total tackles, a sack, and a forced fumble against Dallas. If the former Wisconsin standout wasn’t rostered over Philadelphia’s bye week, he sure as heck should be now.

IDP STUDS AND DUDS: Week 9 IDP Start/Sit

LB Bobby Okereke IND & WR Odell Beckham CLE

With Darius Leonard back, Bobby Okereke's playing time dropped a tad in last week's win over the Detroit Lions, but he still managed seven stops in a so-so IDP matchup. In a top-five fantasy matchup with the run-heavy Ravens in Week 9, Okereke should shine.

IDP WAIVER WIRE: Week 9

LB Robert Spillane PIT

Spillane was certainly up to the task in last week’s huge win over rival Baltimore — the third-year pro led Pittsburgh with 11 total tackles while taking a Lamar Jackson pass the other way for the first score of the afternoon... Now he gets a favorable IDP matchup in Week 9 with Ezekiel Elliott and Dallas.

IDP STUDS AND DUDS: Week 8 IDP Start/Sit

LB Jayon Brown TEN

Week 8 marked the third time in the past four games that Jayon Brown has hit the eight-tackle mark, but the big plays he's been known for to this point in his career have been lacking. Still, the 25-year-old is well-positioned for a good stat line in a top-five IDP matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.

IDP WAIVER WIRE: Week 8

WR Julio Jones Atlanta Falcons

Eric Wilson's tackle numbers haven't been especially impressive, but he's been consistently making splash plays—so many in fact that Wilson ranks inside LB1 territory in terms of fantasy points per game. If he was cut loose during Minnesota's Week 7 bye, scoop the 26-year-old up.
