FLEX APPEAL: Week 3

WR John Ross CIN & Tedric Thompson SEA

Can you name the leading receiver in the NFL through two weeks? If you answered John Ross, then give yourself a pat on the back, as that is correct. Yes, Buffalo is a tough matchup, but it doesn’t matter. You have to stay in the flames, Sharks.

THE PROGNOSTICATOR: Week 3

QB Kyler Murray Oklahoma

Carolina is already in desperation mode for a win and if by some miracle Kyle Allen rallies his team for a win, he may never look back. It was Kyle Allen that beat out Kyler Murray at Texas A&M for the quarterback job before Murray transferred to Oklahoma.

LIKE/DISLIKE: Week 3

RB Austin Ekeler LAC

Ekeler is crushing it in the absence of Melvin Gordon, in fact at this point, the Chargers are probably happy he is not reporting. Ekeler and Jackson have a nice rotation going so far, that seems to be matchup proof to start the season.

CORNER LOCKDOWN: Week 3

RB David Montgomery CHI

David Montgomery hasn’t seen many targets in the passing game, but as long as he’s getting the majority of the carries and goal line work, then he’s going to be very solid for fantasy purposes moving forward.

FIRE & ICE: Week 3

WR_T.Y._Hilton_IND_1

Don’t get me wrong, T.Y. Hilton has been more than serviceable in his first two weeks this year logging touchdowns in each game, but he hasn’t had that signature big play we’ve become accustomed to seeing from him; failing to go over 100-yards receiving in either of the first two weeks.

Can the Baltimore defense slow down Patrick Mahomes and the high-powered Kansas City offense How will all the new quarterbacks fare in Week 3? David Grey will examine all the matchups in this week’s “Grey Report,” because, “Not All Matchups ...

START/BENCH: Week 3

QB Jimmy Garoppolo SF

Like their division-mates in Los Angeles and Seattle, San Francisco is off to a 2-0 start ahead of its home opener Sunday against reeling Pittsburgh. Garoppolo has been a reason for that success and is a player to target on fantasy waiver wires in Week 3.

5 UP/5 DOWN: Week 2

LB Darius Leonard tackles RB Joe Mixon

Through two weeks, Mixon has 17 carries for just 27 yards, and only five receptions for 17 yards, and has yet to reach the end zone. Cincinnati has road games against Buffalo and Pittsburgh coming up before returning home to host Arizona. If Mixon’s numbers don’t dramatically improve by then, you’ll want to see if you can find a trade partner.

OFFENSE: Takeaways – Week 2

RB Marlon Mack IND

Marlon Mack is leading the NFL in rushing attempts so far with 45.. Dalvin Cook is the next best with 41 attempts for 265 yards. Le’Veon Bell, Sony Michel and Ezekiel Elliott round out the Top-5 for rushing attempts with 36 each.

STREAMING DEFENSES: Week 3

LB Wesley Woodyard TEN

Thursday night games tend to be much lower scoring than weekend match ups. Add in a rookie quarterback with a limited offense, and the Titans have a recipe for fantasy success. Gardner Minshew fumbled several times in his last appearance and the shaky play should continue in this divisional match up.

STRENGTH OF SCHEDULE: Good/Bad Matchups – Week 3

QB Baker Mayfield CLE

In Week 3, Mayfield gets to face the Rams, who are the third-toughest matchup for opposing quarterbacks. I hope Mayfield and the hype train that is Cleveland comes through, but stats don’t lie. I still like Mayfield for the rest of the season, but he could struggle yet again this week.

TEAM DEFENSE: Takeaways after Week 2

LB Kyle Van Noy NEP

The landscape for defensive rankings so far have proven to be a far cry from last year. Eventually, the expected teams such as Jacksonville and Philadelphia will progress towards their normal means instead of being below average as they have ...

TRAPS & TRENDS: Week 3

Hey! Aren’t you supposed to be the NFL’s top dual-threat quarterback? How come you didn’t carry the ball when your team needed a touchdown during the closing minutes of Thursday Night Football?

THE PROGNOSTICATOR: Week 2

WR_Julio_Jones_11_ATL_1

Atlanta is at home and an underdog? Say what now? If you want to overreact to Week 1 then sure, that makes sense, but if you understand that Atlanta has one of the very best passing attacks in the league and will be able to throw all over their stadium for chunks of yardage, then you know how silly that line is.

LIKE/DISLIKE: Week 2

Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger Pittsburgh Steelers

Roethlisberger had a rough Week 1, finishing with 276 yards with no touchdowns and an interception.. It’s no secret that Roethlisberger is better at home than on the road as he has 64 more touchdowns and 17 fewer interceptions in his career at home versus on the road. Look for a bounce-back game..

BOLD PREDICTIONS: Week 2

QB_Matt_Ryan_ATL_1

Carson Wentz and Matt Ryan will combine for more than 700 passing yards and six passing touchdowns in their matchup this week. With the NFL shifting towards a “pass-first, pass-second, pass-always” philosophy, expect two of the league’s best passing offenses to air it out all over the field on Sunday.

RISERS & FALLERS: Week 2

RB_Chris_Thompson_WAS_1

With the newest set back to Derrius Guice and last week's healthy scratch status of Adrian Peterson, Thompson looks like the only back with a cemented status for Washington's offense. His 7 catches for 68 yards shows that he is back for at least flex purposes.

FLEX APPEAL: Week 2

RB Devin Singletary Bills

Look for Singletary to have around 15 touches in this game, which is a plus matchup for opposing running backs. The Giants won’t stop him, simply put, and this could be the game that gets him to breakout status. Fire up the rookie for a solid flex.

FIRE & ICE: Week 2

RB Duke Johnson Texans and CB Eli Apple Saints

Last week against the Jacksonville’s defense the Kansas City running backs gave them trouble all day. This could very well go over in the same manner this week for Houston and Johnson is the same type of elusive pass catching back that could be a nightmare for the Jags defense to match-up with.

IDP STUDS AND DUDS: Week 2 IDP Start/Sit

RB Matt Breida SF & LB Alec Ogletree NYG

Alec Ogletree may be full of it, but the reality is that IDP owners might actually be better served if the Giants struggle to get off the field like they did against the Cowboys. Dallas threw the ball a lot more than the Buffalo Bills will, so look for an improvement on Ogletree's six tackles in Week 1.

CORNER LOCKDOWN: Week 2

RB Sony Michel NEP

Sony Michel gets the Dolphins this week and unlike Antonio Brown and the receiving core, Michel should get consistent work out of the backfield. He bounces back in a big way in Week 2.

START/BENCH: Week 2

QB_Derek_Carr_OAK_3

Carr isn’t going to beat Kansas City this week. But after passing for 259 yards and a score against Denver he should have success against a Kansas City defense that was just lit up by rookie quarterback Gardner Minshew.

2019 FANTASY STOCK EXCHANGE: Week 2

RB Marlon Mack IND

In a fantasy football league, the most valuable asset is the team owner’s ability to know when to buy players who are on the cusp of breaking out and knowing when to cut loose a player who is about to go into decline. Much like the real world stock market, making the wrong decisions sometime can lead to cataclysmic consequences.

STREAMING DEFENSES: Week 2

Helmet_Baltimore_Ravens_1

Still listed at only 50% rostered in ESPN leagues, Baltimore is the top option if available on waivers. They are favored by nearly two touchdowns in their home opener. Rookie Kyler Murray is coming to town behind a bad offensive line and pass heavy scheme. Multiple sacks and turnovers are on the table for this defensive unit.

STRENGTH OF SCHEDULE: Good/Bad Matchups – Week 2

QB Josh Allen BUF

I’m going back to Josh Allen this week, as Dak Prescott just lit the Giants’ defense (4th easiest matchup for opposing QBs) on fire. Allen was atrocious in the first 3 quarters of play against the Jets last week, but he came around in the last quarter to help the Bills win. The addition of John Brown is nothing to scoff at, leaving me to believe this will be another good fantasy day for Allen.

DIARY OF A FANTASY VIRGIN: Week 2

WR_Mike_Evans_TBB_1

All I needed was an en temps performance from Tyreek Hill and Mike Evans but they went all bunsly on me. If Deshaun Watson goes for a 44 burger I will win. Hooray! But he only went for a 39 burger and I am 0-1.

BOLD PREDICTIONS: Week 1

RB Kerryon Johnson DET

Kerryon Johnson will have 175 total yards and two touchdowns against Arizona this week. Death, taxes, and opposing running backs running wild against the Arizona Cardinals defense. No team in the NFL allowed more fantasy points per game (30.8)... than the Arizona defense in 2018.
