TEAM DEFENSE: Takeaways after Week 2

LB Kyle Van Noy NEP

The landscape for defensive rankings so far have proven to be a far cry from last year. Eventually, the expected teams such as Jacksonville and Philadelphia will progress towards their normal means instead of being below average as they have ...

THE DIVE: Hit the Ground Running – Week 1

RB Phillip Lindsay DEN

With veteran quarterback Joe Flacco now running the offense, there should be more opportunity for second-year running back Phillip Lindsay. Although Denver’s offense never reached full steam last season, Lindsay was a rare bright spot with more than 1,000 rushing yards and nine touchdowns in 15 games.

PRESEASON RECAP: Week 3 Standouts, Slip-Ups, and Sleepers

RB Sony Michel NEP

If there is any knock on Sony Michel in this game, it’s that he failed to score from the 1-yard line, and fullback James Develin scored on the next play -- a familiar sight for anyone who rostered Michel last year. Develin will most likely continue to vulture some touchdowns in the regular season, but you shouldn’t let that turn you off from Michel.

DIARY OF A FANTASY VIRGIN: Divisional Weekend

WR Keke Coutee HOU

First up are the surging Indianapolis Colts at the Kansas City Chiefs. I sense either brilliance from Patrick Mahomes or another scheme by the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts run-run-run and throw-throw-throw so I see the latter and another road victory this playoff season for the Colts.

THE DIVE: Week 15 “Expect the Unexpected!”

CB Desmond Trufant ATL and WR Robert Woods LAR

Robert Woods has been targeted at least five times and gained at least 70 receiving yards in every game except Week 1. The Rams should return to offensive domination when they welcome Philadelphia, who have surrendered the second-most fantasy points to wide receivers, and was just recently torched by Amari Cooper.

DIARY OF A FANTASY VIRGIN: Week 14

RB Phillip Lindsay DEN

On the last week of our fantasy football season, RB Phillip Lindsay, RB James Conner, and QB Deshaun Watson went for a combined 70 points. Only Phillip Lindsay went for a 28 burger but that was enough. I have been winning by getting 90 points from my Top 3 players and coasting in.

THE DIVE: Week 12 “Monday Night Mayhem”

RB_Mark_Ingram_NOS_1

It can be difficult trusting a talented running back who is clearly splitting his workload, even on the prolific offense of the New Orleans Saints. Although Alvin Kamara may produce more points in your fantasy football league especially in PPR format, veteran back Mark Ingram has been extremely effective .

Hello and Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.  I consider it one of the greatest holidays because most people get Thursday and Friday off.  How cool is that? So enjoy your Turkey.  Enjoy your stuffing.  Devour that pumpkin pie.  Thanksgiving is a ...

THE DIVE: Week 11 “Leading The Pack”

WR Alshon Jeffery PHI & CB James Bradberry CAR

Even with the amount of wideouts in Philadelphia, Jeffery should break out of his brief slump when he visits the New Orleans secondary, who has surrendered the most fantasy points (including most receiving yards and touchdowns) to wide receivers.

Week 11 has arrived.  We are nearing the home stretch and the Bye weeks are getting down to the final count.  Every week is important and sometimes your team cannot find the end zone.  Somehow it becomes critical to try ...

THE PROGNOSTICATOR: Week 9

QB Tom Brady NE

The NFL has been pumping up this game in New England where Aaron Rodgers and company come to play. Fantasy stats of the week come from the Green Bay passing game as they shred the Patriots defense; there's just no way to sugarcoat it.

THE DIVE: Week 8 “Ram Tough”

Safety Maurice Alexander LA Rams

As we look ahead at Week 8, let’s rewind through several few Week 7 highlights.  Can the Los Angeles Rams be stopped…or even slowed down?  They won their 7th straight and continue as the NFL’s only undefeated team as they ...

THE DIVE: Week 7 “Off the Radar”

RB Frank Gore MIA

Some believe that 16th century Spanish explorer Ponce de León found the "Fountain of Youth" in Florida, Miami Dolphins’ veteran running back Frank Gore has rediscovered it in 2018! At 35 years old, he is the oldest running back in the NFL, yet just became the first to rush for 100-yards against the Chicago Bears’ defense.

THE DIVE: Week 6 – “The Big Breesy”

QB_Jameis_Winston_TBB_1

Atlanta has allowed the fourth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks, including three passing touchdowns allowed in each of the last three games. Over his career, Jameis Winston has a 110.0 quarterback rating with 14 total touchdowns in five games against Atlanta..

DIARY OF A FANTASY VIRGIN: Week 6

QB Carson Wents PHI & RB Jay Ajayi PHI

Where is the season going? It is on fast forward and I lost running back Jay Ajayi. Just when you thought the reigning Super Bowl Champions would be forced to run the football they find themselves without a running back and one game under .500.

THE DIVE: Week 5 “Almost Famous”

Tennessee_Titans_Helmet_1

Although Week 5 was brimming with amazing performances, there were several events that “almost” happened.  After winning last week, the Cleveland Browns almost won their 2nd game in a row, but lost a lead in a bitter overtime defeat.  The ...

DIARY OF A FANTASY VIRGIN: Week 5

Ryder_Cup_2016_1

Despite starting out 3-1 on the opening four matches day one, the US went on to only earn 7 ½ more points out of a possibility of 24 more to be had. In the end Team Europe took back the Ryder Cup with a score of 17 ½ to 10 ½ . It was ugly and we make no excuses. The US Ryder Cup team seems more out-of-synch on European soil than ever before.

THE DIVE: Week 4 “Temporary Ground”

RB Chris Carson SEA

Just when it appeared that rookie Rashaad Penny would receive the bulk of carries in Seattle over Chris Carson, Week 3 proved otherwise. Penny only managed 8 yards from seven carries, while Carson broke out for 102 rushing yards, 22 receiving yards, and a touchdown last weekend.

DIARY OF A FANTASY VIRGIN: Week 3

Red Sox

Only two changes but the Red Sox have the best record in all of baseball. Their record is 103-47 as of this writing. That is 56 games over .500, and to put it bluntly, the team hits the ball and this team wins regular season baseball games. It just doesn’t make sense to see a team win 103 games with 12 more games to play.

THE PROGNOSTICATOR: Week 2

RB_LeSean_McCoy_BUF_2

I may be the last writer left standing that is still beating the LeSean McCoy drum but here I am. If the Bills were smart, they'd run and pass to McCoy a whole lot, no matter what the game situation says. If they're not so smart, like last week, they'll actually try and win the game.

THE DIVE: Week 2 “Storylines”

RB_Chris_Thompson_WAS_1

With a home matchup against the Indianapolis Colts’ defense who allowed over five yards per carry in Week 1, look for Chris Thompson to have an encore performance and serve as a low-end RB2 or FLEX with a high ceiling.

DIARY OF A FANTASY VIRGIN: Week 2

Mount Rushmore

What do you do when you turn 50? I asked that question earlier this year and came up with a long weekend in Rapid City South Dakota to see Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse Memorial, and Custer State Park. So I got these off of my bucket list and it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Here are some takeaways.
