OK… things are starting to get back on track a bit. I managed to get these brand-spanking new rankings out on time this week, which is a good thing. Haven’t seen so many football nerds excited about my work since the great Positional Relevancy Redux of ’09.
On with the CP+ Rankings for Week 5…
I really like the rapid progress of rookie Deshaun Watson in Houston– Watson is slowly creeping up the rankings to #7 at the quarter-pole. As he settles into a groove and his consistency starts to level off, he has a shot at finishing up in the Top 5. Dak Prescott may not put up the most points in any given week, but he’s pretty much going to put up 21 PPG every week… he’s super-consistent for a young QB.
Uh, can someone answer this for me: when did Todd Gurley become such a receiving threat out of the backfield? Both Gurley and Kareem Hunt will seemingly be having slow games toting the ball, then the next thing you know, they’re hauling in passes for good yards and a TD or two. Ride both these studs to the bitter end.
