Giovani Bernard, RB, Cincinnati
Bernard has been hot the last few weeks for the Bengals; primarily due to Joe Mixon battling a concussion then an ankle injury. He totaled 168 yards and a score last week after Mixon was hurt and should be primed for another big workload in Week 17. Bernard ends the season on the road against the Ravens, but is still a solid play based on the volume he will get in this divisional matchup.
Adam Thielen, WR, Minnesota
Thielen has had two bad games in-a-row, as he’s totaled five receptions for 54 yards and no touchdowns. The Vikings have been running the ball a lot and haven’t been asking Case Keenum to do too much. Chances are, much of the same will happen this week at home against the Bears, so you may want to find another option at receiver.
Bilal Powell, RB, New York Jets
Powell had a huge Week 16, rushing 19 times for 145 yards and a trip to pay dirt. He’s been one of the few bright spots for the Jets all season and even though he splits time in the backfield with two other guys, he’s been the most productive. Powell ends the year with the Patriots and should get the ball plenty. Expect 20 plus touches and over 100 total yards.
Martavis Bryant, WR, Pittsburgh
Bryant hasn’t been as productive as I thought he would be the last two weeks with Antonio Brown on the shelf, but he has the upside to explode at any time. He had a quiet game last week, only catching three passes for 60 yards, but he did have 59 yards and a score the week before. Bryant has a dream matchup with the Browns in Week 17 and should get some run. This puts him in the WR2 conversation.
Lock of the Week
Jamison Crowder, WR, Washington
Crowder started the year as an afterthought, but has really picked it up the last half of the season. He’s scored all three of his touchdowns in the last five games and has a plus matchup with the Giants this week. The same Giants team that he burned for 141 yards and a score in Week 12. Crowder should have another big game to end the season with the Giants spiraling out of control. Get him in your lineup.
