10 – Ike Davis is figuring it out, 6-11 with a homer and 6 RBI in the Tampa Bay series and he has home run friendly Bronson Arroyo and Homer Bailey on tap the next two days.
9 – Kevin Youkilis isn’t right, I realize the Red Sox are playing him because they want to trade him but no one is going to trade for a corner infielder that has lost a step in the field, is slashing .219/.303/.352, and hasn’t gotten a hit in a week. Free Will Middlebrooks!
8 – Silly, silly Red Sox. Letting Dustin Pedroia play through a torn muscle is not going to make it better or allow him to match his career production. It’s going to make it worse and drain your offense. Since returning from his week off he is 6-36 (.167) with 1 XBH and a 10:4 K:BB. DL him already.
7 – Everth Cabrera and Dee Gordon just keep on running, 11 stolen bases combined in the last week. Gordon probably isn’t available in your league, but Cabrera is. If you need speed, pick him up.
6 – John Axford has now given up more than a run in three consecutive appearances. Whether he’s injured or not, another lemon and something along those lines will come out from Milwaukee. Get Francisco Rodriguez before someone else does.
5 – His ownership % has finally crept up over 50%, but if he’s still out there get Matt Harrison as he draws the Padres next.
4 – Speaking of streaming, Justin Masterson draws the K-happy Pirates tonight. After a rough start he has been better of late, sans a meltdown vs. Kansas City.
3 – No, do not buy Brandon Moss. It’s a mirage. The humidor must have been broken this week.
2 – Desmond Jennings looks completely lost at the plate. Probably tough to move him right now, but toss a couple of offers out there and see what sticks.
1 – Shin-Soo Choo’s tear at the lead off position continues as he belted 2 home runs on Thursday. His average has valted from .221 to .273 since the lineup change. Clearly he’s more comfortable up there, hold onto him, this is legit.
