10 – Don’t look now, but Alfonso Soriano is becoming fantasy relevant again. He’s hit all four of his home runs in the month of May and has a solid 23 RBI. He’s keeping his average respectable and is playing every day.

9 – Andy Pettitte is coming in hot just when the Yanks need him most. After two starts, the un-retired veteran is picking up right where he left off, including an eight inning, 0 run, nine strikeout effort against the Reds. This deserves a stop on all fantasy rosters.

8 – Well make that three homers in the last five games for Ian Desmond. He is now a top five shortstop and should be owned in all formats. He is contributing in all categories and even has the average up to a very solid .280.

7 – I don’t know what to make of Max Scherzer. He has great stuff, but not the best control. Any given night he can give you seven innings and double digit strikeouts or he can explode for six runs in four innings. At this point he has to be owned, but only used when the matchup is right.

6 – Bryce Harper is already starting to figure it out and the results could be scary. He has four multi-hit games in his last five and is all over the base paths. Don’t be surprised if the phenom is a top 25 outfielder by season’s end.

5 – After such a hot start Derek Jeter is starting to come back to reality. He just got his first RBI in almost three weeks on Tuesday night. He’s still hitting .341, but has only had five multi-hit games in May.

4 – There aren’t many hotter hitters in the game right now than Michael Bourn. He’s coming off a monster night at the plate where he had his first career two home run game. He’s scored 30 runs and has 13 steals while hitting well over .300. Obviously the power won’t last, but Bourn should end up having a very good fantasy season.

3 – Brandon Phillips is slowly getting back to the quality second baseman that owners drafted him as in the preseason. He’s hit safely in 10 of his last 12 games and had two home runs in Tuesday night’s game. The average is still low (.266), but it’s been going up the entire month.

2 – It looks like Gio Gonzalez is panning out just fine for the Nationals. In his last four starts he is 4-0. Gonzalez has 35 strikeouts in 25 innings and has only allowed six earned runs total. I bet the Athletics are feeling regret now for trading him in the off season.

1 – Albert went yard again Tuesday night for his fourth long ball of the season. He’s slowly creeping his average up, but don’t think you’re out of the woods yet. Pujols still only has one multi-hit game in his last 12. The three home runs in seven games at least give you some hope though.
