Each week this season in the Daily Blitz, fantasy analyst Nick Pagliuca will list what players he is targeting at each position. He will also mention one player at each position that should be avoided. Price and projected stats will be considered into analysis. The key to daily fantasy is fitting players into your lineup based on price/production.
Week 8 will be focusing on Fanduel…
QB: Andrew Luck ($7,900) is much like Drew Brees. He is a player that you can target at home. The Colts find themselves in a good matchup against the Chiefs. Donte Moncrief could be back this week as well so I would consider pairing Luck with two of his pass catchers in a mini stack for your tournament plays. Jameis Winston ($7,400) is another QB to target at a nice price as he takes on the Raiders at home. Russell Wilson ($8,200) is a high-reward player, but that offense line is atrocious and he has not been piling up the rushing yards this season.
RB: Devontae Booker ($5,600) is a surefire lock to be heavily owned this week. It is justifiable as C.J. Anderson is expected to miss some time. The same goes for Devonta Freeman ($6,900), who has a depressed price tag and his counterpart Tevin Coleman will not play. The matchup against the Packers is not extremely ideal, but at home he should still be a major factor. He will also help the Falcons in the receiving game. If you are paying up, Christine Michael ($7,800) against the Saints looks like a nice play. A contrarian play would be Lamar Miller ($7,400) who should be fine to play this week against the Lions. He has a great matchup and may be avoided after his injury on a short week.
RB TO AVOID: Latavius Murray ($6,200)
WR: Mike Evans ($7,900) is a top stud play this week against Oakland. He is great to pair with Jameis as they have connected for 6 TDs in 6 games. T.Y. Hilton is one of the hottest WRs in the league and can be stacked with Andrew Luck in a solid home matchup. Donte Moncrief ($5,400) is a high risk, high reward play if he suits up. I continue to mention Michael Thomas ($5,700) as a value play and even though he faces Seattle, he gets to play at home where the passing offense excels. If Randall Cobb ($6,800) cannot suit up, I would get Davante Adams ($6,600) in your lineup.
TE: If Josh McCown plays this week, I like Gary Barnidge ($5,000) against the Jets. The reports look good on McCown this week and he should target his tight end. Jimmy Graham ($6,700) back in the Superdome is also an attractive play.
DEF: Patriots @ BUF ($4,500) or Texans v DET ($4,300)
