DFS: $DPP Analysis – Week 14

The Alvin Kamara train continued for the past five weeks and if you roster him in those games you were reaping the benefits. However if you play in a season long league, that train has derailed as Kamara left the Thursday night game with a concussion.

Back to Week 13 the high owned players that disappointed were Mike Evans, Carlos Hyde, Jordan Howard and Davante Adams. The highest priced studs were Keenan Allen, Todd Gurley, Alvin Kamara and Mark Ingram. The biggest bust were Julio Jones, Tom Brady, Brandin Cooks and Adam Thielen. The best values were Josh McCown, Jermaine Kearse and Kenyan Drake.

Last week the quarterbacks that were under $6,000 performed the best. Josh McCown led all quarterbacks with 34.14 DK points. Blake Bortles was second with 28.06 DK points and Tom Savage had 20.5 DK points. Philip Rivers was the only quarterback $7,000 or more to score at least 20 fantasy points. Brett Hundley was the highest owned quarterback on the slate at 10.25% he finished with just 8.96 DK points.

$DPP Value Plays

Jimmy Garoppolo (DK: $5,500/$393 DPP — FD: $7,000/$500 DPP)
Garoppolo’s first start with the 49ers was a decent one as he threw for 293 passing yards completing 70% of his passes and leading the 49ers to a win. This week he will look to throw a few scores against the Texans who have allowed 20.2 DK points per game. It is surprising that they still allow the 2nd most DK points considering they have only allowed 150-yards passing or less over the last two games with only one touchdown.

Eli Manning (DK: $4,800/$320 DPP — FD: $6,000/$400 DPP)
After Manning was benched the fan base had enough of Ben McAdoo and the loss to the Raiders sealed the fate of the head coach who was fired this week. Manning returns to the staring lineup with his salary at almost site minimum and would need only 14.5 points to meet value. He faces the Cowboys who allow 18.8 DK points per game and who have allowed two or more passing touchdowns for five consecutive weeks.

Running Backs

Todd Gurley was the highest owned running back on the slate scoring 21.8 DK points. However Alvin Kamara was the top scoring running back with 29.6 DK points in Week 13. The top busts were Carlos Hyde scoring 9.6 DK points as the 2nd highest owned  player. Jordan Howard was the 3rd highest owned player and finished with just 4.3 DK points. Once again Kareem Hunt, though not as highly owned as he was the previous week still only managed 9.3 DK points. Hunt has now gone 10 straight weeks with out a rushing touchdown. He should be a GPP flyer this week but only in a small dollar tournament. The best values were Kenyan Drake scoring 26.1 DK points, Alex Collins scoring 23.8 DK points and Jamaal Williams with 23.3 DK points.

$DPP Value Plays

Giovani Bernard (DK: $3,100/$282 DPP — FD: $5,100/$510 DPP)
Joe Mixon will miss the next game and with Jeremy Hill on IR it will put Bernard back into the fantasy mix. Last week he had 13 carries for 77 yards. With the volume he will get he will be one of the highest owned players this week. Prior to last week, he did not carry the ball more than three times over 9 straight games. He faces the Bears who are allowing 23.5 DK points. The match-up isn’t ideal but at his price he is worth a GPP flyer.

Frank Gore (DK: $3,900/$279 DPP — FD: $5,500/$423 DPP)
Gore is another forgotten fantasy player that is back on the radar this week. He gets a dream match-up against the Bills who allow 28.7 DK points per game and multiple rushing touchdowns in 4 of their last 5 games. He is averaging 52 rushing yards per game and would need just 11.7 DK points to reach value. Gore has had double-digit DK points in 3 of the last 5 games so it is doable that he will hit value this week.
