DFS: FanDuel Plays of the Week – Week 8

QUARTERBACK

  1. Jimmy Garoppolo $6,600 at Seattle (31st)
  2. Ryan Tannehill $7,500 at Cincinnati (6th)
  3. Aaron Rodgers $8,400 vs. Minnesota (21st)
  4. Kirk Cousins $7,100 at Green Bay (13th)
  5. Derek Carr $7,300 at Cleveland (25th)
  6. Justin Herbert $7,700 at Denver (24th)
  7. Jared Goff $7,300 at Miami (18th)
  8. Philip Rivers $6,900 at Detroit (23rd)
  9. Nick Foles $6,700 vs. New Orleans (29th)
  10. Patrick Mahomes $9,200 vs. New York Jets (16th)

Skinny: Over the course of the last two weeks, the San Francisco offense has got it rolling again … Kyle Shanahan is dialing it up, and with San Francisco down to its fourth-string running back this week, expect San Francisco to lean on Garoppolo and the passing game against a Seattle defense leaking points to opposing offenses. Cincinnati’s ranking of sixth is deceptive … teams have simply been able to run on Cincinnati, so its pass defense hasn’t taken the hit you would think. Tennessee coming off its first loss of the season will be out to rebound in a big way … I like Tannehill to have a very strong day on Sunday … Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay offense shredded the Minnesota defense the first time around in Week 1 … I would expect more of the same in Week 8.

RUNNING BACK

  1. Jonathan Taylor $7,300 at Detroit (30th)
  2. Kareem Hunt $8,200 vs. Las Vegas (29th)
  3. Clyde Edwards-Helaire $7,500 vs. New York Jets (28th)
  4. Derrick Henry $9,500 at Cincinnati (19th)
  5. Alvin Kamara $9,000 at Chicago (13th)
  6. Dalvin Cook $9,200 vs. Green Bay (31st)
  7. Aaron Jones $8,500 vs. Minnesota (18th)
  8. Melvin Gordon III $6,700 vs. Los Angeles Chargers (7th)
  9. Darrell Henderson Jr. $6,100 at Miami (26th)
  10. JaMycal Hasty $5,600 at Seattle (10th)

Skinny: We have been waiting and waiting for the Jonathan Taylor breakout game, and I personally have been calling for it on more than one occasion … I expect that FINALLY it is here against a Detroit defense that is one of the worst in the league against the running game. For as long as Kareem Hunt is the bell cow back in Cleveland with Nick Chubb out of the lineup, I will be placing Hunt in my daily lineups. I know that you have to pay up for him, but Derrick Henry is going to go bonkers against a Cincinnati defensive front that is no match for him.

WIDE RECEIVER

  1. Keenan Allen $7,400 at Denver (27th)
  2. Justin Jefferson $6,600 at Green Bay (13th)
  3. Adam Thielen $7,700 at Green Bay (13th)
  4. Davante Adams $9,100 vs. Minnesota (28th)
  5. Brandon Aiyuk $5,900 at Seattle (32nd)
  6. Marquise Brown $5,900 vs. Pittsburgh (29th)
  7. Rashard Higgins $5,500 vs. Las Vegas (15th)
  8. Henry Ruggs III $5,700 at Cleveland (30th)
  9. A.J. Brown $7,500 at Cincinnati (12th)
  10. DK Metcalf $7,800 vs. San Francisco (8th)

Skinny: Many of us were concerned that if the Los Angeles Chargers turned to Justin Herbert, he would limit the Keenan Allen production in this offense … we could not have been more wrong … in fact, Herbert has unlocked Keenan Allen making him a Top 10 wide receiver once again. In a game where I believe the Minnesota secondary will be obliterated by a Green Bay offense, Justin Jefferson is amazing value … FanDuel has not caught up with the recent developments, and Jefferson is an absolute steal at $6600. I mentioned earlier how much I like Jimmy Garoppolo in this spot … if I’m going to stack Garoppolo with any non-George Kittle receiving option, it would be Brandon Aiyuk … with Deebo Samuel banged up again, this time with a hamstring injury, I would expect Aiyuk to be as involved in the San Francisco offense as ever before.
