What’s in the water in Ohio? A quick glace of the International League’s top performers shows that the Top 5 players listed for most doubles are all located in teams that play in the Buckeye State. League leader Cord Phelps of Columbus has 10 while his teammate Lonnie Chisenhall has nine. Tied with Chisenhall is Toledo’s Brad Eldred. Fellow Toledo Mud Hens Ryan Strieby and Quintin Berry are both holding tight with eight two-baggers each. Eldred also leads the International League in home runs (13) and runs batted in (35) going into April 29 games. He earned his promotion to Detroit when he was called up to replace Delmon Young.
