DraftKings $10 Million Week 1 Preview

Week 1 has finally arrived! Before you set your lineups on DraftKings, take a look at some of the preferred plays at each position this weekend.

DraftKings is giving away $2 MILLION to 1st place in their $10M Millionaire Maker tournament. The Thursday night game is not included so you have until Sunday at 1PM to set your lineup. You can also make individual game time changes for players in the later games.

SHARKS PROMO: *If you sign up on DraftKings using this link and deposit just $10, DraftKings will buy you a Platinum Shark membership, a $47.95 value!*

Sam Bradford – $6,900 – Bradford is a cheap play in primetime in Week 1. He may be a popular choice, but I am taking the chance on him regardless. Tony Romo at $7,300 is also worth a look if you can upgrade a few hundred. If you need to save money, Carson Palmer ($6,500) is the way to go against a banged up Saints secondary. If you want to go the Palmer route instead of Bradford, look to fit in a Cardinals WR to go for the QB-WR stack.

DeMarco Murray – $6,700 – Murray has an ideal matchup with the Falcons so I am keeping the trend of loading up on the Eagles offense. Lock in the big three at a fairly reasonable price.

Eagles RB DeMarco Murray.

Chris Ivory – $4,100 – Ivory has enjoyed a solid preseason and while the matchup is not great, he should still get plenty of touches. At this low of a price, Ivory is a great value pick and our models project him with more than a 50% chance to score.

These two backs fit well into my salary cap, but here are a few other lower priced options: Lamar Miller ($5,500), Alfred Blue ($3,600), and Benny Cunningham ($3,000). I cannot express much optimism about Blue or Cunningham, but they appear to be the main players in their respective backfields on Sunday. With their prices in the $3K range, they should be able to meet value.

Julio Jones – $9,300 – I am going to load up on the Monday night players in the dome in Atlanta. The Falcons running game is unpredictable so Matt Ryan should be targeting Jones early and often.

Jordan Matthews – $7,200 – The combo of Bradford and Matthews should be able to do damage at an affordable cost. I expect him to have the most points in the group priced in his range. Brandin Cooks has a tough matchup with the Cardinals and while I think DeAndre Hopkins can find success, Vegas projects a higher total in the Falcons-Eagles game.

Davante Adams – $4,400 – Adams will be an extremely high-owned player in tournaments this weekend. While his price is hard to ignore, he may be worth a fade if you enter multiple lineups. The matchup is ideal against the Bears as Aaron Rodgers #2 target.

WR Tournament Plays

These players should not be heavily owned, so if you wish to make some contrarian plays, keep these players in mind that are $5,500 or cheaper:

Larry Fitzgerald ($5,500), Allen Robinson ($5,400), John Brown ($4,500)

Deep Sleeper: Stevie Johnson ($3,700)

Jason Witten ($4,000) – Witten always finds a way to beat the Giants. This game should feature plenty of points and Witten should reach paydirt. If you need to save a few more bucks, look at Delanie Walker ($3,400) against the Bucs. Larry Donnell ($3,200) is a contrarian play that should not be heavily owned and will be a boom/bust option.

The Jets ($2,900) will likely be a popular choice, so if you want to pass on Gang Green, take a look at the Bucs ($2,800) against the Titans at home. Marcus Mariota will make his first start on the road.
