Each week this season, fantasy analyst Nick Pagliuca will list what players he is targeting at each position. He will also mention one player at each position that should be avoided. Price and projected stats will be considered into analysis. The key to daily fantasy is fitting players into your lineup based on price/production.
Week 1 will be focusing on DraftKings…
Dak Prescott – $5,000 – After his solid preseason, Prescott will not be flying under the radar in Week 1. He provides a huge salary relief, but could be one of the most popular plays. The Giants defense should be improved from their 2015 campaign, but at this cost he is well worth a shot.
Doug Martin – $6,200 – Another route you could go to grab a piece of the Bucs offense would be through Martin on the ground. His price is very affordable and Atlanta struggled against the run in 2015.
Latavius Murray – $5,600 – Another game that should have points will be in New Orleans. You may want to grab as many players from this game as you can on the Oakland side.
DeAndre Hopkins – $8,800 – I like having the QB-WR combo and it does not come at too steep of a price.
Michael Crabtree – $5,500 – Cheap receiver in a game that could feature plenty of points.
Sterling Shepard – $4,900 – Have no problem throwing out the rookie for Week 1.
Marvin Jones – $4,600 – Another cheap option who many believe will lead the team in receiving this year. It could be a high-paced game in Indy.
Coby Fleener – $4,900 – His preseason was not what you would have hoped, but the potential and opportunity is there for the Saints tight end. His price is very affordable for the ceiling that he brings.
Jason Witten – $4,100 – Always a Giant killer (39 fantasy points in 2 games last year).
Jared Cook – $2,900 – A clear hit or miss Week 1 target. Could score 2 TDs or put up 0 points
AVOID: No specific mentions here, but would not pay up for Gronk’s $7,400 price tag this week.
Texans – $3,200 – Home matchup with the Bears should provide some sacks and picks on Jay Cutler.
