Figuring out which low priced players offer both value and upside separates the sharks from the chum in DFS. Everyone knows who the stars are, and paying up for those guys is necessary to have a solid core to your lineup. But every week, there are players at the lower rungs of salary pricing that can be great additions to your player pool. Identifying these diamonds in the rough will allow flexibility to get more studs in, as well as lower ownership. Here’s a quick rundown of players priced down relative to their position that you could consider rostering for the Sunday main slate on DraftKings and Fan Duel.
Quarterback
The pickings here are pretty slim:
- Derek Carr, Raiders ($5100 DK/$6600 FD)
Carr has a positive game script going against the Chiefs. Oakland looked better than expected against Denver last Monday night
- Marcus Mariota, Titans ($5000 DK/$7400 FD)
Mariota is a volatile player, which makes him perfect for large field tournaments. He was efficient last week, and a healthy Delanie Walker does wonders for his passing production. There’s always rushing upside with him as well.
Running Back
RB can be tricky but there are options available this week:
- Giovani Bernard, Bengals ($5300 DK/$5700 FD)
If Joe Mixon sits, Bernard becomes a free square.
- Matt Breida, 49ers ($5200 DK/$5600 FD)
Breida should get a good amount of volume with Tevin Coleman out. However, use caution as Breida is known to be a bit fragile himself
- LeSean McCoy, Chiefs ($4700 DK/$5800 FD)
Shady looked great in his Chiefs debut. He’s still splitting time with Williams, but is still a big play threat. Andy Reid will want to get him in the end zone sooner rather than later.
- Josh Jacobs, Raiders ($4700/$6600 FD)
Jacobs got the volume owners were hoping for against the Broncos. He should be involved in the passing game a ton this week with a positive game script against the Chiefs.
- Devin Singletary, Bills ($4200 DK/$5700 FD)
Looked good with limited work against the Jets. The Giants present a soft matchup, and Singletary will get more touches as he gains the coaches trust.
- Chris Thompson, Redskins ($3900 DK/$5300 FD)
Washington has limited options at RB against Dallas. Thompson is explosive when healthy, and should get plenty touches here in the passing game. A much better buy at DraftKings.
