Week 12 was the longest week ever finally ending on Wednesday. Like last week, Week 13 will have to deal with shifting games as the Washington vs Pittsburgh game has moved to Monday afternoon and the Dallas vs Baltimore game has been moved twice and now will be played on Tuesday. For those playing Sun-Mon slate, it looks as if the Tuesday game has been removed from that slate on both DraftKings and Fanduel as a Showdown slate only game.
As for the main slate, my top stacks will be the Packers, Texans and Seahawks. I like this week because I think the ownership for quarterbacks will be very spread out. Other teams that will see ownership will be the Vikings, Cardinals and Chargers.
The field was on Patrick Mahomes at 23%, 6 percent higher than any other quarterback. He finished with the top score at the position with 35.28 DraftKings points. The best value play was Kirk Cousins at just 1.5% ownership. He finished with 30.18 DraftKings points at $6,100. The biggest bust was Derek Carr at the 4th highest ownership around 10%. He finished with just 4.6 DraftKings points.
Mike Glennon– Jacksonville Jaguars (DK: $4,800/$343 DPP — FD: $6,800/$486 DPP)
Last week I featured Glennon and he was a decent value play scoring 18 DraftKings points. Not a slate breaking performance but good enough to allow you to stack at the other positions. This week we want to use Dalvin Cook and Davante Adams, but both are $9,000 or more on DraftKings which make it tough to use both in the same lineup. The Vikings are allowing the 12th most DraftKings points to the position with 19.5 points per game and should be leading this game to force Jacksonville to pass more.
Colt McCoy– New York Giants (DK: $4,800/$386 DPP — FD: $6,500/$431 DPP)
Not a great fantasy play but at $4,800 he is basically a flex play at the quarterback position. The Giants will be facing the team that gives up the most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks in a game where the Giants will be forced to throw. Last week McCoy looked bad, but he still completed 60% of his throws. The Seahawks give up 24.58 DraftKings points per game. You would need half that to make value and no one will play him in DFS.
The top owned running back is also the top bust of the slate as Dalvin Cook had almost 45% ownership in tournaments but finished with just 11.2 DraftKings points. His $9,500 price tag was a steep price for his lackluster production. Those that pivot to Derrick Henry at just 6% ownership cashed in as he led the slate with 41.5 DraftKings points. The best value was Latavius Murray at just 0.5% ownership at $5,900 scoring 28.6 DraftKings points.
David Montgomery– Chicago Bears (DK: $5,500/$367 DPP — FD: $6,200/$443 DPP)
Having Montgomery as a chalky play this week over players such as Alvin Kamara and Aaron Jones just feels so wrong but sometimes that’s how a season changes and it will be different from week to week. Montgomery is fresh off a 28.1 DraftKings points performance last week and now faces the Lions who have allowed the most DraftKings points to the position with 33.29 points per game. As long as Mitchell Trubisky is checking down to him, he has to be in play at that price.
Frank Gore– Miami Dolphins (DK: $4,400/$489 DPP — FD: $5,300/$462 DPP)
I haven’t used Gore all season but Week 13 has left us without any viable running backs under $5K on DraftKings that can provide salary relief. Gore has seen double-digit carries over the last six games and 15 carries per game over the last three which he is averaging 11.5 DraftKings points. The Jets face the Raiders who have been awful against the run allowing 28.15 DraftKings points per game this season to running backs.
