It was election week and in the spirit of voting, we are selecting Dalvin Cook to be the top scoring player on the slate. Other votes are going to Julio Jones and Chase Edmonds with a sneaky Christian McCaffrey to gain ownership as the week progresses.
Last week’s top chalk option at quarterback and running back did not pan out. This week Josh Allen, Keenan Allen and Dalvin Cook will be among the highest owned this week. They will be tough to fade as they are all in good spots.
Jimmy Garoppolo was the highest owned at the position with 19% and was also one of the biggest busts on the slate as he left with an injury and only scored 2.76 DraftKings points. Russell Wilson and Patrick Mahomes led the position in scoring showing a they have a consistent floor from week to week. The best value play was Philip Rivers scoring 22.28 DraftKings points at $5,900
Drew Lock– Denver Broncos (DK: $5,200/$347 DPP — FD: $7,200/$480 DPP)
Last week Lock posted his first 20-point fantasy game of the season throwing for three touchdowns. It was his first touchdown since Week 1. Looking back at his games played, he faced very good defenses that ranked in the Top-15 in against the pass. This week he gets a matchup against Atlanta who give up the 2nd most passing yards with 311.4 passing yards per game and the most passing touchdowns with 20. They are 2nd in fantasy points allowed to the position with 26.4 per game. Lock has targeted rookie Jerry Jeudy and Noah Fant heavily and it makes for a pretty cheap stack for all three players.
Daniel Jones (DK: $5,400/$386 DPP — FD: $6,900/$531 DPP)
Jones and the Giants have had a rough season, but their last 4 games have been decided by 3 points or less. The turnovers are always going to be an issue but the price on Jones is cheap in a good matchup this week against the Redskins which is the only team they have beaten this season. The Redskins have kept passing yards low this season as they have held quarterbacks to 185.8 passing yards per game with 10 touchdowns. They allow 19 fantasy points per game to the position. At his price, 19 points would make value and would allow you to be able to spend up for the studs you need in your lineup.
There was heavy ownership among the top 4 owned plays led by Kareem Hunt with 44% in GPPs. Jamaal Williams was almost 44% as well followed by Derrick Henry with 25% ownership and Alvin Kamara at 22% ownership. The top scorer of the slate was Dalvin Cook who scored 51.6 DraftKings points at 9% ownership. The biggest bust was Hunt scoring just 9.3 DraftKings points at his ownership. The best value was DeeJay Dallas scoring 22.8 DraftKings points at $4,000.
DeeJay Dallas– Seattle Seahawks (DK: $5,000/$333 DPP — FD: $5,100/$392 DPP)
I wrote up Dallas last week as late news of Chris Carson gave him the opportunity to have all the carries in the backfield. He produced well putting up 22.8 DraftKings points. This week Carson and Carlos Hyde have been ruled out allowing Dallas to be the lead back again in one of the highest scoring games on the slate. The Bills are 28th in rushing yards allowed per game with 134.5 with 11 touchdowns given up. They allow 19.8 fantasy points per game to the position.
D’Andre Swift- Detroit Lions (DK: $5,000/$357 DPP — FD: $6,000/$462 DPP)
Swift has taken over as the lead back in the Lions backfield. Adrian Peterson who has averaged just 45 yards rushing per game this season only saw 5 carries last week while Kerryon Johnson received none. The Vikings allow the 14th most rushing yards with 124.4 rushing yards per game with 5 touchdowns. They also give up 18.3 fantasy points per game to the position. With all the top price receivers this week, Swift would be a good salary relief play.
