The final week of the regular season is upon us, and for those still fighting for a Championship, we got you covered. This week we have an abbreviated list as Week 17 games are hard to breakdown due to various teams resting players or not playing for anything anymore. There are some games on the slate that shape up to be highly competitive and others that for sure will be a letdown. If you are playing Good Luck to you, I hope you can bring it home!
Justin Herbert QB Los Angeles Chargers (at Chiefs)
Last week Herbert threw his 28th touchdown pass, breaking the rookie record previously held by Baker Mayfield. This week he gets the Chiefs, which would be a tough spot for a rookie going into Arrowhead, but with nothing to play for, the Chiefs will be resting starters. Herbert has proven he can play at this level, and this is a matchup that looks to be leaning in his favor.
David Johnson RB Houston Texans (vs Titans)
Johnson had his first 100-yard game last week against the Bengals. Although injuries took their toll on him again this year, he’s produced when he’s been in the lineup. This week he gets a matchup against a Titans defense that has allowed over 1,500 rushing yards on the year. The Texans are a mess offensively, but DJ should be able to shoulder another significant workload in this one.
Justin Jefferson WR Minnesota Vikings (at Lions)
The rookie receiver from LSU has cooled off a bit here in recent weeks but still has double-digit targets in his previous two games. The Lions meanwhile, have allowed 3,057 yards, which is the second-most receiving yards on the season. With his target share and a bad Lions pass defense Jefferson will continue to see the volume in this one; the hope is that he gets back to pay-dirt.
Robert Tonyan TE Green Bay Pakers (at Bears)
Tonyan was held out of the end zone last week for the first time in five games. This week he gets a matchup against the Bears, who have allowed 892 yards and ten touchdowns to opposing wide receivers this year. If you plucked Tonyan off waivers, he’s been great all year, and although last week was a letdown, this week looks to be promising.
