THE PROGNOSTICATOR: Week 3

Welcome my fantasy brethren to another edition of The Prognosticator, may it leave you dumbfounded. Enjoy Week 3 everyone, there are some interesting games this week with the game of the week highlighted by Baltimore at Kansas City. If you love the game of football and your time is short this weekend there are two other games that will turn into viewing pleasures. Don’t neglect the Atlanta at Indianapolis game but maybe most entertaining of all will be one that I don’t think many will see coming, where a likely Cam Newton-less Panthers take on Kyler Murray at home in Arizona. Trust me on this, it’s going to be great!

How to read the table: The table shows how a team will do Passing and Rushing in the upcoming week of the NFL. Red is HOT, Yellow is WARM, White is NORMAL, Light Blue is COLD and Dark Blue is FREEZING COLD. Play players from teams that are Red and Yellow, avoid players from teams that are Light or Dark Blue and expect average days from teams that are White.

All times are Eastern

Tennessee Titans at Jacksonville Jaguars – Thursday 8:20pm
Two grounds games going head to head; there is really not much more to this game than that. This game is all about the offensive and defensive lines from both teams. It’s a trenches game, where the hand fighting will be fierce. Derrick Henry and Leonard Fournette will be showcased and both will respond well.

Cincinnati Bengals at Buffalo Bills – Sunday 1:00pm
Buffalo is at home which is always a challenge for the away team. Devin Singletary is dealing with a hamstring issue but he truly looks like a find in the fantasy landscape. If he’s hampered this week, do not be afraid to play Frank Gore as Buffalo is running the ball quite well. An unheralded strength of Buffalo has been their defense against the run. Even if Joe Mixon were to be at full strength, this would be tough sledding for him. Thankfully for Cincinnati though, their offense actually works now. Andy Dalton is firing on all cylinders and his receivers are electric. Focus on the Buffalo ground game and the Cincinnati passing game as well as Josh Allen — that’s what you’re looking at.

Atlanta Falcons at Indianapolis Colts – Sunday 1:00pm
While Atlanta most certainly does have a heck of a passing game, it runs better when they are on their own fast track. In this case, they’re in Indianapolis and with Atlanta’s inability to stop the run, this is plain and simple, a Marlon Mack game. All aboard.

New York Jets at New England Patriots – Sunday 1:00pm
OMG. For real? The biggest surprise in this game is how relentless Tom Brady will be. You would think that all the Patriots have to do is run the ball in this one and let their defense win the game. You’d think wrong. There’s a “thing” with Belichick and the Jets. Expect some crazy numbers from the New England passing game, get what you own into your lineup.

Baltimore Ravens at Kansas City Chiefs – Sunday 1:00pm
While Kansas City does look unstoppable and they are at home, it’s after this week that people start to understand how dangerous the Baltimore Ravens really are. Yes, Patrick Mahomes will throw the ball wherever he wants, whenever he wants but where it all falls apart for Kansas City is in the ground game. While Baltimore can’t score like Kansas City can, they aren’t that far behind. The obvious advantage here is how difficult it will be for Kansas City to run the ball and how easy it will be for Baltimore. The Kansas City defense has some holes in all of the wrong places for this game.

Prediction: Baltimore Ravens 33 – Kansas City Chiefs 27
