How to read the table: The table shows how a team will do Passing and Rushing in the upcoming week of the NFL. Red is HOT, Yellow is WARM, White is NORMAL, Light Blue is COLD and Dark Blue is FREEZING COLD. Play players from teams that are Red and Yellow, avoid players from teams that are Light or Dark Blue and expect average days from teams that are White.

All times are Eastern

Miami Dolphins at Jacksonville Jaguars – Thursday 8:20pm
We expected more out of Jacksonville than we got on Thursday. It was a good fantasy game to be a part of, we expected aerial fireworks from Ryan Fitzpatrick in particular and credit to Miami on a solid victory.

Los Angeles Rams at Buffalo Bills – Sunday 1:00pm
Ultimately, this should turn into a good game of football. While Buffalo does bring a good defense and secondary to the game, the Rams can still throw it, the advantage always goes to the offense in today’s NFL and that will show here. With all the talk about who is healthy enough to play in the Rams’ backfield, the real answer will be, it really won’t matter, Buffalo will keep the Rams ground game in check. This is a good spot for Devin Singletary however.

Las Vegas Raiders at New England Patriots – Sunday 1:00pm
So the 2-0 Raiders roll into New England to go up against the 1-1 Patriots who are favored by 6 points. Josh Jacobs has been receiving treatment this week and you should know, that he is a pivotal part to Las Vegas’ chances. Darren Waller too looks near unstoppable. New England does a good job of focusing on one player to take away as they believe in trying to neutralize one star and Waller is a leading candidate. New England will be fine here, they won’t play particularly well and Las Vegas will most definitely give them a run for their money but no Josh Jacobs, or an ineffective Josh Jacobs? The scale tilts in a hurry New England’s way.

Washington Football Team at Cleveland Browns – Sunday 1:00pm
This game will be the tale of two ground games. Cleveland will run Nick Chubb but this is more of a Kareem Hunt game. Washington has a heavy front defensively and some talent in their secondary, you target Washington in the middle seams and to the outsides and that’s where Hunt can really shine. Washington will answer with plenty of running on their own, they know that they need to establish the run to support Dwayne Haskins and the passing game, the problem for fantasy is that the source of those rushing statistics can come from a multitude of sources. You lean Antonio Gibson in a flex role if you have to, there is upside there, but it is a dicey play. Terry McLaurin should also be able to get open in this one and he makes for an intriguing play.

Houston Texans at Pittsburgh Steelers – Sunday 1:00pm
Here’s the thing.. there are a number of teams that are already showing their stripes and Houston is one of them. This may as well be their Super Bowl here in Week 3 because after two weeks, the play has been horrible, the play-calling suspect, it’s just a mess right now. Come to find out, it actually was DeAndre Hopkins that was keeping them afloat. The Deshaun Watson deal was a good one, he is the real deal and locking him up will help this franchise but player/personnel needs addressing, it’s been a really bad year in the department for Houston as they’re going backwards instead of forwards. In this entire game, James Conner is the only play here, he’ll roll. Do you bench Deshaun Watson? Probably not, I won’t be, but dang it if Houston doesn’t just suck. And yes, that was hopefully enough double- and triple-negatives designed just to confuse you.

San Francisco 49ers at New York Giants – Sunday 1:00pm
Just about anyone worth their salt is out in this one for San Francisco with Nick Mullens expected to start at quarterback.. Oh my. Injuries have haunted San Francisco over the past few years. They are doing a terrific job at acquiring talent, the question becomes, are they doing a good enough job of protecting that talent? It’s becoming a trend in San Francisco, I’m sure their trainers, dieticians and medical people are top notch but sometimes, sometimes change is good as this isn’t bad luck anymore, it’s starting to become a pattern. They need a team that handles player safety from top to bottom, from conditioning to making sure the fields they play on are acceptable. Ding-ding-ding.. and there’s another point of evidence as the field they were playing on, and are playing on again this week, was not safe to play on. Individually the 49ers are strong but they need a better cohesiveness throughout the organization to truly come out on top. Having said that, this is still the NFC Champion San Francisco 49ers and while they won’t be as dominant, they will still have plenty of surprises for New York. Expect the Giants to throw the ball a ton since their backfield is not the strength of their team anymore.

Cincinnati Bengals at Philadelphia Eagles – Sunday 1:00pm
Joe Burrow looks to be the real deal, welcome Joe, we’ve been waiting for the next class of stud fantasy quarterbacks, we all look forward to drafting you for years to come. I hope we win a few championships together along the way too. Until then.. stay safe. The play of Joe Burrow and his options cancels out the play of Carson Wentz and his options in this game. They both are decent offenses to start in fantasy, if you have a need, but neither will put up big totals. Philadelphia has been struggling, this is already a pivotal game for them and Cincinnati will put up one heck of a fight but Philadelphia has one advantage that will carry them through this day — Miles Sanders.

Tennessee Titans at Minnesota Vikings – Sunday 1:00pm
Here we are again with another team that needs to either put up or shut up — Minnesota. The Vikings have been so bad, they’re now home underdogs to Tennessee, who granted, have been playing well. On the Tennessee side of the ball, expect a heavy dose of Derrick Henry, in fact, the most carries he’s seen so far this year, with some short passing to help move the chains. This game is all about Tennessee running the ball right at Minnesota and it will reduce what Ryan Tannehill provides in the air. Jonnu Smith has turned a corner, he should see a lot of targets still but this isn’t an “air it out” kind of game. Minnesota will struggle at times, they too will attempt to feature their ground game and Dalvin Cook.  But this is a tough game to try and get involved in the Minnesota passing/receiving game. You have to play Adam Thielen as he’s really the only option and in the end, this is a statement game for Minnesota, they’ve heard it all week and when they were in this same spot last year, written off and tossed in the gutter, it’s when they started to play their best football.

Chicago Bears at Atlanta Falcons – Sunday 1:00pm
Chicago will be fine here, play what you have, but if there is one team that is ready to blow the lid off a game, it’s the 0-2 Atlanta Falcons that would finish the year 14-2 if they could only buy a defense and a special teams unit that knows the rules. The offense is spectacular but they can’t make up for defensive miscues and special team foibles. For fantasy though, come.. on.. down.. you guys are great! Check on Julio Jones, he’s dinged and if he does play, could be a bit of a decoy given the options they have with Calvin Ridley and Russell Gage.

New York Jets at Indianapolis Colts – Sunday 4:05pm
Better days will be ahead for the Jets, maybe. What a train wreck it is right now though. Oooff. The only real play in this game is on the Colts side with Jonathan Taylor as Indianapolis wants to just get out of this game healthy and with a win. They’ll cut down on any of the low percentage/higher injury risk plays and just run Taylor all day behind that stellar offensive line, it’s all they’ll need to win this game.

Carolina Panthers at Los Angeles Chargers – Sunday 4:05pm
Justin Herbert gets the start and that’s a wrap Tyrod Taylor, thanks for stopping in. After this game, the eye test will be enough to convince the Chargers that Herbert time starts now. Not only in his play, but the offense overall will have a crispness to it, a rhythm that just wasn’t there with Taylor. Sure, the rookie will make plenty of mistakes this week and every week this year but there won’t be any denying it anymore, he belongs and he needs to play. Carolina without Christian McCaffrey is a Division II team at best.. things are not going to go well for Carolina the rest of the way as they’ll be so far out of the race by the time McCaffrey returns to the field. It may sound nutty but if you can turn McCaffrey into a good addition to your team, trade him, the last thing Carolina will want to do is play McCaffrey if there is nothing to gain from it; they’ll play the NFL game where he sits more than he plays as they protect their top asset for 2021.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Denver Broncos – Sunday 4:25pm
Maybe Denver uses the same training staff as the 49ers? Geesh. In one week the Broncos went from a team with hope to a team that should be looking to 2021 to try again. The IR list is a mile long both on offense and defense for Denver that they are signing guys off the street so that they can field a team. With all the hope that was in Denver just two weeks ago to this? It’s just further evidence that life can be great one moment when you are riding high and then just two short weeks later, you’re deep in the gutter trying to claw your way out again — welcome to it Broncos. While Leonard Fournette showed well last week, this is still Tom Brady‘s team and he’s about to carve up a Denver defense that won’t be able to cover everyone. Brady excels at finding the open man and for Denver’s sake, he better not be open deep downfield. Play this passing game, Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and Scott Miller are all going to play well here.

Dallas Cowboys at Seattle Seahawks – Sunday 4:25pm
Wow, just wow. Game of the week as far as potential points in the air is right here. Expect Dallas to sling the ball all over the yard and for Seattle to do the same. The difference here is simply Ezekiel Elliott vs. a Seattle ground game that can sputter at times. It’s partly the play-calling and if Seattle gets that ironed out, they’ll have a chance. Dallas has less in the way of obstacles so the path to victory should be easier but if Seattle corrects some things and figures out some specific things, they’ll have a chance in this one too.

Detroit Lions at Arizona Cardinals – Sunday 4:25pm
There’s no other way to say it.. this will be lopsided. Arizona at home, throwing and in particular running the football at will against a poor Detroit defense? It is going to be relentless. When Detroit is on offense, it will be just as dominating just not offensively! The Arizona defense will come in bunches, gang-tackling and sacking their way to victory.

Green Bay Packers at New Orleans Saints – Sunday 8:20pm
So wait a second.. we have Green Bay at New Orleans, the showdown between the two top wideouts in the game Michael Thomas and Davante Adams and neither one are playing? Adams isn’t confirmed as of this writing but he’s so far listed as doubtful and hasn’t practiced all week, Thomas has been declared out. Well great, just great. New Orleans, in particular Drew Brees, have a lot to prove here and they’ll play well by spreading the ball around as they do. Green Bay is the better fantasy play, they have less options. Obviously from both teams you play the running backs but know that the best individual receiving performance will likely come from the Packers in either Allen Lazard, Marquez Valdes-Scantling or both.

Kansas City Chiefs at Baltimore Ravens – Monday 8:15pm
Boom! What a game. As expected, the Chargers defense last week showed how you pester the Kansas City offense that almost resulted in an upset victory. This is going to be a tough one for the Chiefs. Expect a ground game by Baltimore that will confuse and confound the Kansas City defense and for Lamar Jackson to roll on the ground.
