How to read the table: The table shows how a team will do Passing and Rushing in the upcoming week of the NFL. Red is HOT, Yellow is WARM, White is NORMAL, Light Blue is COLD and Dark Blue is FREEZING COLD. Play players from teams that are Red and Yellow, avoid players from teams that are Light or Dark Blue and expect average days from teams that are White.
Philadelphia Eagles at New York Giants – Thursday 8:20pm
It’s an interesting Thursday night. First, it’s a division game which always adds a certain amount of uncertainty. Offensively, Philadelphia have one glaring advantage and that’s when they run the ball as New York has been soft up the middle. With Jay Ajayi gone for the year, it will be a timeshare to start with between Corey Clement and Wendell Smallwood but don’t forget about Darren Sproles when he gets healthy. Expect the Eagles to run and keep the passing short to Zach Ertz. New York has Saquon Barkley but Philadelphia is arguable the toughest defense to run on so this becomes an Eli Manning “game management” type contest where if Eli is bad Eli, things will unravel for the Giants in a hurry. Evan Engram is out for this game which is a shame as he would have done well here so expect more from Barkley in the passing game instead.

Chicago Bears at Miami Dolphins – Sunday 1:00pm
Did Chicago suddenly notice that they have Tarik Cohen on their roster last time they played? This one is in Miami so it keeps the score a little tighter but this is Chicago’s game to lose. Miami will have zero chance against the Bears staunch defense. I know that many Jordan Howard fantasy owners are worried but don’t be. The better the defense gets, the more the Bears will run their big thumper, though with Philadelphia looking to trade for a running back, Jordan Howard‘s name along with LeSean McCoy has been tossed around.

Indianapolis Colts at New York Jets – Sunday 1:00pm
Poor Andrew Luck. Since he’s been in the league, Indianapolis has continued to put nothing around him and as a team, both offensively and defensively, it’s not pretty. It’s why heads should roll in Indianapolis as their personnel department is a farce. Years ago I would have put Indianapolis at or near the top as far as best team in the NFL for player evaluations. Now? Not so much. The one great thing for fantasy though is that Andrew Luck has to throw the ball a ton just to try and compete, as it’s their only show in town. As an aside, I realize we haven’t seem much of Marlon Mack but he’s a good player and he can be had for a song still. Expect this to be all New York Jets at home with Andrew Luck throwing the ball close to 60 times just to try and keep up. If only T.Y. Hilton or Jack Doyle could suit up, as it may give them a small chance, but neither are expected.

Pittsburgh Steelers at Cincinnati Bengals – Sunday 1:00pm
What a game this is going to be. Expect both teams to air it out a ton. Play all that you own in both passing games while their running games operate as just complements. Both teams will be mirror images of each other and because of it, Cincinnati at home gets the nod due to the home field advantage.

Los Angeles Chargers at Cleveland Browns – Sunday 1:00pm
Cleveland can definitely compete at home as they’ll be able to run the ball with authority through a depleted Chargers defense. In fact, Cleveland should win the Time of Possession battle in this one due to all the running they’ll be doing and all the throwing the Chargers will be doing. The problem for Cleveland is that the Chargers will be able to throw the ball at will for completions to anyone, and when a game is on the line, it’s a good passing attack at the end that wins it.
