THE PROGNOSTICATOR: Week 7

Welcome my fantasy brethren to another edition of The Prognosticator, may it count the days. There has been less drama in the NFL this year and I assume that’s on purpose. Enjoy the games!

How to read the table: The table shows how a team will do Passing and Rushing in the upcoming week of the NFL. Red is HOT, Yellow is WARM, White is NORMAL, Light Blue is COLD and Dark Blue is FREEZING COLD. Play players from teams that are Red and Yellow, avoid players from teams that are Light or Dark Blue and expect average days from teams that are White.

All times are Eastern

Denver Broncos at Arizona Cardinals – Thursday 8:20pm
Always be frightened of the home underdog — which Arizona is. Denver will run wild with reckless abandon, this is true, but Arizona will repay the favor with some good run blocking of their own for David Johnson. As far as football games to watch go, it’s not going to be a great one, as each team will be satisfied with their three-yard gains and the amount of time they’re taking off of the clock.

Prediction: Arizona Cardinals 24 – Denver Broncos 17

Tennessee Titans at Los Angeles Chargers – Sunday 9:30am
In an early (9:30am ET) game from London, the Chargers run Melvin Gordon and Austin Ekeler like two running backs possessed for four straight quarters. Tennessee is over matched in this one, right from the opening whistle.

Buffalo Bills at Indianapolis Colts – Sunday 1:00pm
One thing is for certain, the Bills aren’t planning on throwing the ball a lot with Derek Anderson starting at quarterback. Anderson has been with the team for.. two weeks. I know, and everyone else knows, that the Colts defense will simply stack the box to stop LeSean McCoy and let Anderson try and beat them but here’s the thing.. it’s quite possible, given the state of the Indianapolis defense, that they won’t even be able to do that. It’s why McCoy makes for such an interesting fantasy player this week. Indianapolis will struggle some with the Buffalo defense as they are a good unit but at home, the Colts will eventually get themselves together.

Detroit Lions at Miami Dolphins – Sunday 1:00pm
Miami will never be completely out of this game because they can run the ball well here with Frank Gore and they are at home. Detroit however holds all the cards with their passing offense and their ability to score with just seconds on the clock.

Favorite: Detroit Lions by 1
Prediction: Detroit Lions 27 – Miami Dolphins 23

Minnesota Vikings at New York Jets – Sunday 1:00pm
Not counting the London game, this will be the third game this week with a home underdog and this time it’s the New York Jets. Minnesota is certainly a quality opponent and they will be able to complete passes at their leisure but New York plays a scrappy game of balanced football where the entire team gives an effort at home that answers the “home underdog” challenge head on.

Favorite: Minnesota Vikings by 3
Prediction: New York Jets 27 – Minnesota Vikings 21
Category Advantage
Rushing
