THE DIVE: Week 13 “Black Friday Blowout”

Week 12 had a few nail biters, but also several absolute blowouts! In fact, six games were won by 17 or more points. The New York Jets, Buffalo Bills, San Francisco 49ers, Cleveland Browns, Tennessee Titans, and Baltimore Ravens easily defeated their respective opponents, and some of which were complete annihilation! Week 12 brought us quite a few superb quarterback performances from Lamar Jackson, Ryan Tannehill, Jameis Winston, and Sam Darnold who all posted huge numbers. Running backs Christian McCaffrey Leonard Fournette as well as wide receivers D.J. Moore, Chris Godwin, and Jarvis Landry also stepped up with monster performances to reward their fantasy owners in this critical week.

Take a dive with me as we prepare for Week 13, which is the final week of the fantasy regular season in many league formats. Be proactive in setting your lineup this week as three games will be held on Thursday, Thanksgiving Day. Every team is playing this week as byes have concluded. Except for rain forecast in Baltimore and New York, weather should not be a variable in most of the games for Thanksgiving or the weekend, although temperatures continue to cool.

QB Nick Foles, Jacksonville

Sadly, the Gardner Minshew ride has now ended. Although Nick Foles return to the helm was solid in Week 11, he and his team failed to show up for Week 12 in a complete debacle against the Tennessee Titans. Look for Foles to rebound when the Jaguars host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers who have allowed the 2nd most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks. If your quarterback is injured or has been unreliable, give Foles a look this weekend as a low end QB2.

Week 13 forecast: 250 passing yards; 2 TD

RB Kareem Hunt, Cleveland

Although his matchup is not favorable and workload is split with Nick Chubb, Kareem Hunt deserves consideration for Week 13. In his three games back, Hunt has averaged over 4 yards per carry and five catches per game. Expect even more from Hunt as the Cleveland Browns have now won three in a row, and are looking to add ways to leverage their star running back. Consider Hunt a low-end TE2 or Flex with high upside as the Cleveland Browns visit the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 13.

Week 13 forecast: 75 total yards; 1 TD

WR A.J. Brown, Tennessee

Tennessee Titans’ wide receiver A.J. Brown has the skill set to be one of the best receivers in the league and has shown sparks of this potential in three games this season. However, he has also been held with 27 yards or less in six games. Brown torched Jacksonville’s secondary for 135 yards and a touchdown last weekend and will rematch against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 13. Brown only managed 25 yards during their Week 2 matchup, but expect a stronger outing this time around. Tennessee’s offense under veteran quarterback Ryan Tannehill has been more prolific especially with Derrick Henry’s unstoppable ground game. Consider Brown a WR3 or Flex with high upside.

Week 13 forecast: 80 receiving yards; 1 TD

TE Jack Doyle, Indianapolis

With Eric Ebron placed on injured reserve, Jack Doyle should see more targets from quarterback Jacoby Brissett. Doyle’s ceiling may not be sky high, but he does have a decent floor. Doyle and the Colts will welcome the Tennessee Titans who give up the 11th most fantasy points to opposing tight ends. Doyle was quiet in their Week 2 matchup, but he will play a larger role in the offense this weekend and a solid choice for TE2.

Week 13 forecast: 50 receiving yards; 1 TD

D/ST New York Jets

Rather quietly, the New York Jets have strung together three wins in a row and will be victorious again when they visit the winless Cincinnati Bengals this weekend. Although Sam Darnold and the offense has improved, Jets’ defense has been superb with 17 sacks, 5 forced turnovers, and two TDs over the last four games. The Jets have only allowed 20 points combined to opposing offenses over the last two contests. New York Jets’ defense will be a popular pickup and even waiver wire add this week as Cincinnati has surrendered the 3rd most fantasy points to opposing defenses this season. Consider the New York Jets defense this week!

Week 13 forecast: 12 points
