Welcome to The Lowdown for Week 15. This is my little corner of the fantasy football universe — feel free to pull up a chair and stay awhile!
If you’re bothering to read this column, it’s obvious you’ve done pretty well for yourself this season. Now I’m not necessarily saying that you’ve been successful because you’ve been reading this column– for all I know, you could be treating me as if I were Matthew Berry and have just avoided all the players I’ve been recommending. Whatever works for you is OK with me, I’m not that proud. But if you feel I’ve either helped or entertained you over the course of this season, consider doing two things for me: one, check out my videos (see below)… two, let Tony Holm know if you want to see my work again next season. Honestly, I’m always ambivalent about whether or not to continue fantasy sports writing; no, I’m not fishing for compliments or trying to pull off some sort of negotiating ploy. I’m just genuinely interested in knowing if people are interested in this type of work… is it helpful? Entertaining? Too much computer analysis? Not enough? You need to give us some feedback… trust me, Tony and I are big boys, we can take some criticism. So send him/me some feedback and let’s figure out if I should continue writing next season or just retire and spare the world this drivel.
This past summer, I asked my readers to help me achieve some personal goals, to wit: 500 new subscribers to my Twitter and Youtube channels. They’re both 100 percent free. Let’s face it, these rankings take some effort and it’d be nice to see some love heading back my way from you people … I don’t care if you actually consume any of the content at my Riot links, but your subscribing allows me to get some perks on those platforms.
New video is up and ready to go! Check out the top signs that I’m getting really, really old.
Interesting Players for This Week
Straight from the flawless algorithms of Mighty Max come the top matchups at every position for this weekend’s games …
Note #1: The value associated with each player indicates the likelihood of that player having the best score at his position that week; it’s not a representation of his score for the week. A carat (^) symbol next to a player’s name indicates an injury designation negatively impacting his ranking.
Note #2: Computers don’t deal in “hunches;” all projections are data based … so only players who have at least one game of statistics are considered in my models.
Teams on bye this week: None.
