How to read the table: The table shows how a team will do Passing and Rushing in the upcoming week of the NFL. Red is HOT, Yellow is WARM, White is NORMAL, Light Blue is COLD and Dark Blue is FREEZING COLD. Play players from teams that are Red and Yellow, avoid players from teams that are Light or Dark Blue and expect average days from teams that are White.

All times are Eastern

Houston Texans at Kansas City Chiefs – Thursday 8:20pm
Expect Patrick Mahomes to be the MVP of this game and for Clyde Edwards-Helaire to show well. Houston will struggle out of the gate though. You have been warned.

New York Jets at Buffalo Bills – Sunday 1:00pm
This is not where you want to dig for fantasy stats as they’ll be few and far between. The only real play is Devin Singletary, the rest will struggle in this division game that will be closer (mainly due to ineptitude) than the lines-makers think. The Bills get the slight nod, as this one is in Orchard Park.

Miami Dolphins at New England Patriots – Sunday 1:00pm
Another AFC East matchup that will be have a closer outcome than most seem to think. Miami beat the Tom Brady led Patriots in New England to close out their season last year. Look for a lot of passing from Ryan Fitzpatrick yet again but to a bevy of unlikely receivers. The Patriots will win but mainly due to balance. They will be able to run the ball well and Cam Newton will also show well which will make it hard for Miami to keep up for all four quarters.

Favorite: New England Patriots by 6.5
Prediction: New England Patriots 24 – Miami Dolphins 23

Indianapolis Colts at Jacksonville Jaguars – Sunday 1:00pm
Jacksonville is in a tough spot. If what exiting players are saying is true, there isn’t a lot of morale and that will show on the field. Indianapolis, in particular their offensive line and tandem rushing attack with Marlon Mack and Jonathan Taylor, is going to be way too much for the Jags defense to compete with.

Prediction: Indianapolis Colts 27 – Jacksonville Jaguars 17

Philadelphia Eagles at Washington Football Team – Sunday 1:00pm
If you’ve been reading The Progno for some time now, you’ll know that we’re not afraid to take the upset if there is enough data to warrant it. That, and the fact that there are upsets every week in the NFL, should force some of us prognosticator types to make the upset calls too. So here we go.. Carson Wentz will get just a little interception happy as he tries to force the ball into a very suspect and thin receiver group. Philadelphia is the better team in almost every other regard but Washington will be prepared for their home opener.

Prediction: Washington Football Team 27 – Philadelphia Eagles 21
