THE PROGNOSTICATOR: Week 14

L.A. keeps this game competitive but it won’t be pretty from either side. For L.A., the only real potential plays are Cam Akers and Tyler Higbee. Baker Mayfield or not, it’s not a night to mess around with the Rams receivers, or quarterbacks for that matter. Las Vegas will emphasize the pass this week as they will pepper whichever receivers get open. Foster Moreau should have another solid outing with Darren Waller expected to still be sidelined. This is a good spot for Derek Carr who will find his way around, through and over the L.A. defense. Still, L.A. at home will not be an easy win by any stretch for the Raiders.

The Rams haven’t quit yet. Take the L.A. Rams and the +6.5 points.

Buffalo is one of, if not the best, constructed team in football. It will be awfully tough for even a resurgent N.Y. Jets team to beat them in Buffalo or really, on any field. Play all your Bills as they all have potential in this game. The only real problem is that Buffalo has been spreading the ball around a lot (like Kansas City) which detracts from anyone not named Josh Allen or Stefon Diggs from having huge fantasy days. It is a division game and if you haven’t been watching, the Jets are a tough team to play against right now and they’ll keep the score closer than the lines makers predict, but it would be a surprising result indeed if the down-state team beat the up-state team in this game. Be wary of your Jets this week as they’ll flounder against a very tough Buffalo defense on every level.

Buffalo is favored by -10 points currently. If that ticks up to -10.5, then take the N.Y. Jets.

Cleveland has Cincinnati’s number in these matchups lately but it’s a tough pill to swallow that a clearly rusty Deshaun Watson is going to out duel a rising Joe Burrow. There won’t be much in the way of surprises in this game as Cleveland will pound Nick Chubb up the gut until the final whistle blows and Cincinnati will throw the ball a ton with a healthy dose of presumably Joe Mixon sprinkled in. If Mixon can’t go, do not hesitate to slide Samaje Perine right into his slot.
