FANTASY SHARKS RADIO: Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy — IDP-alooza!

It’s the middle of August. Kids are headed back to school. NFL teams are playing football sort of, with the second week of the preseason about to get underway. And most importantly, fantasy draft season is in high gear.

At the Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy we’ve broken down the quarterbacks. Dissected the running backs. Ruminated on wide receivers. And theorized on tight ends.

Now, it’s time to get after it in earnest — and to make Fantasy Sharks Senior Staff Writer Gary Davenport a very happy man — by devoting an episode to Individual Defensive Players.

Of course, in the land of IDP, the list of studs begins with one name who towers above the rest — Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt.

Or does he tower over all? With Watt recovering from back surgery, the normally durable three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year is question mark for Week 1. And even if Watt is on the field against the Chicago Bears, how long will it be before he’s his usual dominant self — and what does all this mean for Watt’s fantasy value?

Watt isn’t the only defensive lineman in the NFL. And from Ezeziel Ansah to Muhammad Wilkerson, the guys will break it all down. Who are the dependable weekly starters? The sleepers in waiting about to break out? And who is on the 10-foot pole list?

The foundation of many IDP squads is the linebacker position. And The Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy has then covered top to bottom. Is Luke Kuechly of the Carolina Panthers, Lavonte David of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers or NaVorro Bowman of the San Francisco 49ers the big Kahuna in 2016? Who are the value plays? The potential busts?

Finally, there are the maddening maestros of the back end — the defensive backs. Can safety Reshad Jones of the Miami Dolphins back up his top finish among IDPs from a year ago? Who are the surprise stars who will come from nowhere to have huge seasons in 2016? And is any defensive back worth an early pick in IDP drafts?

Whether it’s strategy or player values, sleepers or busts, join Gary and Fantasy Sharks Staff Writers Todd Latzke and Walton Spurlin on Thursday, August 18 at 7 PM Eastern for all the information you need to be successful in your IDP drafts this year.

Come on in — the water’s FINE!
