Pick’Em & Survivor: Week 10

Top 5 Pick ‘Em

Season record: 19-26

Carolina +4 (at Pittsburgh) – Cam Newton and Carolina are red hot as they have put up 78 points in their last two games. The Pittsburgh defense seems to be getting a lot of praise as of late, which is fine because it has played well, but their two most recent games were against Baltimore and Cleveland. Pittsburgh has only covered two spreads in its last nine home games as well.

Buffalo +7.5 (at New York Jets) – The Jets are averaging just 10 points per game over their last three matches and have only scored one touchdown in the last two. Their inability to score makes this spread difficult against any opponent, let alone a division rival.

Chicago -6.5 (vs. Detroit) – It’s clear that these two teams are heading in different directions for the second half of the season. Chicago is boasting the best-ranked defense in the league and sit atop the NFC North, while Detroit traded away its best wide receiver in Golden Tate. The Detroit defense has been flying under the radar for how bad it is as well, only besting Oakland and Tampa Bay through nine weeks.

Atlanta -4 (at Cleveland) – Atlanta is slowly getting healthier on defense while its high-flying offense is scoring the fifth-most points per game. Cleveland has yet to show a lot of promise, and the team may even be worse off under Gregg Williams.

Green Bay -9.5 (vs. Miami) – The Miami defense is bad, which is partly due to all its injuries. It is true that Miami held the New York Jets to six points last week, but we all know that traveling to Green Bay and facing Aaron Rodgers is quite a different story.

New York Jets (vs. Buffalo) – See above. The Jets are the third-most popular pick this week.

Los Angeles Chargers (at Oakland) – The Chargers are the fourth-most popular pick this week and they have a juicy matchup in Week 12 when they host Arizona.
