Well, it was a heck of a season. The future is bright.

You guys had an awesome year....and look like a force for years to come.

I am curious, to what the Mets fans thoughts are on Collins decision to let Harvey go back out in the 9th?

My opinion is, that once that decision was made...you can't listen and be swayed by the player.

Yeah, I'm 100% with you. It was pretty weak leadership to let a player sway his opinion. Aside from the big home run in game 1, Familia had been solid enough. He came in to a jam in game 4 and I don't think he allowed a ball out of the infield in that particular blown save. I would've preferred to see him come in with the bases empty to start the inning.

Also, I can't find the stats, but Harvey's had a tendency to fall off a cliff after 100 pitches. That's pretty much a point where he hits the wall. There was no need to have him out there.

IMO, letting him talk his way back on the field was ok. He'd had a heck game thus far and was pitching a shutout. The faulty decision came by not pulling him after walking Cain.

On the other hand, the Royals started making good contact off Harvey in the 8th with a couple hard hit balls to the outfield. At that point I thought to myself "He's losing his stuff or they're on to him. I'd rather see Harvey again in the 9th instead of Familia."

I doubt Collins ever lets a player talk him out of a decision again.
