And the defending GWS Total Points champ is back!
I'm happy with the way things shook out for me. I traditionally draft for depth but in this league decided to go all starting lineup first, worry about depth later and something I don't see a lot of people do - draft primarily from good teams. To a degree. I believe my starting lineup will be plenty good:
QB Marc Bulger, STL
RB Steven Jackson, STL
RB Marion Barber, DAL
WR Marvin Harrison, IND
WR Terrell Owens, DAL
TE Randy McMichael, STL
PK Jason Elam, DEN
TD Chicago Bears
Go Rams and Go 'Boys!! One thing I do in a draft is try to stay away from mediocre or poor offenses as you want your guys playing for the entire season and not giving up when they're 2-10. I worry about teams like the Vikings for example, so unless it's just plain silly where a guy like Adrian Peterson sits in a draft, I'll pass. That's no knock on whomever drafter Peterson by the way. I'd like to get all Colts but well, that's hard to do. I did round up the Rams, Broncos, Cowboys and a big piece of the Colts offense as my primary teams to draft from and I think that worked out pretty well. I think all will be competing through the end of the season for me.
Bulger, Marc STL QB <-- Solid.
Cutler, Jay DEN QB <-- Has the potential to be my starting QB.
Barber, Marion DAL RB <-- I just really like this guy and how he is used.
Bell, Mike DEN RB <-- Was that the sound of Travis Henry's knee shredding?
Henry, Chris TEN RB <-- Potential and I think the back to have from the 3. Late pick.
Jackson, Steven STL RB <-- You know.
Jones, Julius DAL RB <-- I actually liked this pick as I needed some insurance and he really doesn't suck as a 3rd RB. If one or the other goes down or Barber isn't used like I think he will be, I still made out.
Harrison, Marvin IND WR <-- Uhh... yeah.
Kennison, Eddie KCC WR <-- Whatever, bye week filler.
Owens, Terrell DAL WR <-- Crazy but effective and locks up a solid starting pair.
Porter, Jerry OAK WR <-- I've always liked this guy. A perennial guy on my team.
Stallworth, Donte' NEP WR <-- Good offense, seemed worth the risk till we find out who Brady locks in on. Will have some monster games, if I get lucky and have him in the lineup well..
McMichael, Randy STL TE <-- Undervalued I feel. Insurance for all of Steven Jackson's passes, this way I still get the ones that would have gone to him still!
Scheffler, Tony DEN TE <-- Just a hunch. Cutler seemed to have a lot of chemistry with him and I think the Broncos are going to be short 1 or more WR's this year and the TE's are going to see a ton of balls. And yes, just to be clear, I did just type that the Tight Ends are going to see a lot of balls.
Elam, Jason DEN PK <-- Always steady and always good.
Bears, Chicago <-- In my opinion, the #1 D on the board.
