14th year in this league, and I still get excited when that first email announcing the start of the season arrives. 8)

An amazing accomplishment Phyrre. Truly. You've been a consistently tough competitor.

Welcome back all. Glad to see that Duke is back earlier than expected.

Really like the changes this year, including the week later start for the draft and knowing our seating earlier.

Good luck all.

Yeah.. Duke benefited from the Draft Coach removal. There were three teams total including two in Whale's that were kept in Whale thanks to this being the year I took it out. Duke was the next best team. Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good.. Ha Ha.

Looking forward to being the first site champion in the post-Draft Coach era.

Watch it there, Tony!

Hope I have a bit better luck this year. It seemed like I got everyone's best when we went head to head and the injury bug didn't help.

Here's to a good season and good luck to everyone :thumbright: ...except when you're playing me.

I'm gonna take David Johnson No. 1 overall and the draft will get real interesting at the 2/3 turn.

There goes my Plan B, but I'm still happy to have the #6 pick.

Makes sense that Jim took Ezekiel Elliott at 3.01.

I think his value is actually higher. I considered him at 2.05.

He's an enormous risk-reward pick. If you can scrape together enough wins in the first 7 weeks without your 2nd-3rd round pick, then you're golden. If you can just make the playoffs, you're the favorite.

But if you go 2-5 or 1-6 while Zeke is out, it doesn't matter that he might help you finish a more respectable 6-7.

In a relegation league, he's not really worth it. But Jim doesn't have to worry about relegation.

Of course I play Jim in Zeke's first game back... This game is rigged!

I agree with you Phyrre, he's a huge risk-reward. But I figured in Round 3 that he was worth the risk. And if I wind up starting the season 1-6 or 2-5 it won't be just because I swung and missed on Elliott in the 3rd.

Great White contains the best-of-the-best that the Shark Tank has to offer. And regardless of how you draft, the winner of this league is going to have to have some luck.

Luck matters, no doubt. And I was being facetious. :) (Yeah the rules are a little different for Tony & Jim, but I think that's appropriate--it adds to the "members vs. staff" feel of the league.)
