Browns and loins are both teams that have a whole lotta pudding that still needs to be added to the proof. Optimism for both teams is warranted...as is skepticism.

One big difference - the Loins can afford a we didn't handle expectations well step back year whereas if that happens on the other side of the lake heads will roll.

The Loins (on paper) figure to be nearly as good if not better on offense next year if for no other reason, adding Williams. Obviously Goof needs a repeat performance. Where they stand to make up the most ground is on D. They were horrible giving up 25 points a game and were close to last in both run and pass defense.

I would expect them to address D in the draft with their high picks and improve off a dismal 2022.

I don't know what's wrong in CLE and willing to say that the rust on the QB never seemed to get shaken off but in terms of division competition, CLE seems to have a much tougher road than DET especially if Rodgers leaves.

If I were a betting guy, I'd pick the Loins to have a better record than CLE this year.

I'm not worried about the offense. Stefanski managed a quality offense with (healthy) backups; he'll figure it out with a transcendent talent like Watson. I think we'll know before the season's midpoint how many of this team's adjustment and communication issues stemmed from a Peter Principled coordinator vs the Head Coach. Sure, the woefully inadequate talent at DT and losing Walker week 2 played a role last season, but for all intents & purposes that just opened the flood gates to a problem that was already there. If Woods wasn't just a scapegoat and was the source of the problem then this team is a legit contender, but if there's more to it...

Marvin Jones back with our boyz on a 1-yr deal. I like the veterans dotting our roster. Wish Calais Campbell would have signed here too.

Irv Smith Jr signed w/Cincinnati.

There might be some life here *IF* he can stay out of the trainers room.

Lions are the early favorites to win the North, something they have not done in 30 years.

Detroit Lions +150
Minnesota Vikings +270
Green Bay Packers +310
Chicago Bears +475

Of course, those odds will be constantly changing. They also reflect the division and not the relative strength vs. all other teams. If they were in any other division they would be no better than the 2nd best odds to win, and in many they would be third.

The division is a big part of it. On paper they are the best in the division
