Pettine?

He did so well in his last stop too...

Someone has to finish out the year.

Pettine would have been a substantially better choice.

Next four games are meaningless so install a meaningless interim. No need to give exposure to a guy you may want to keep on staff.

Going to be interesting to see what the Pack do next

I don't expect any headway until the offseason, or at least post season if they are targeting an assistant somewhere.

I tend to think most teams have a short list at all times of guys they want should something happen.

Are Green Bay fans happy about this?

I can't imagine this isn't the hottest coaching job available at the moment.

Browns 'news' since Dorsey got here never comes to fruition. I cant tell if hes trying to snuff out leaks or just likes friging with media.

The team will go out of its way to overpay for former players who played for him recently to fill a multitude of holes. When instant success doesn’t happen, and the doomed from the start relationship bewteen the coach and GM immediately starts to fray resulting in a power struggle, the team will recognize its mistake, fire everyone, then attempt to start over with that young QB trying to learn his third offensive system in three years with overpaid players they no longer want but are forced to keep.

So, I guess what I’m saying is Welcome to NY!!!

Never gonna happen. The New York sports media would eat McCarthy alive unless he wins now and often.

I doubt he coaches right away. I'd hope teams would be smarter than that. Then again, somehow Hue Jackson got work right after

Green Bay is THE #1 ticket in the NFL.

Today, there is no comparison really. Been that way for years. However, I fear they'll dip into the sorbet bucket.. I hope they get an up and comer similar to the likes of Zimmer that'll carry them respectably.

Their fan base deserves it.

Football deserves it.

Glad he’s gone if he goes to Cleveland, there goes Chubb as the workhorse back. He’ll give him 7 carries. As far as replacements, josh McDaniel’s looks nice, dark horse Eric Benimey, the chiefs OC.

Interim Coach is Joe Philbin . . . so I'm not sure GB is in any better shape as of right now.
