Jets, Giants and the Miami Texans will be battling for that #1 pick.
Only one of those teams goes for Lawrence though right?
Also the Dolphinss will not be in the conversation I would imagine, but no way they feel a need to replace Tua.
I guess the Giants could consider replacing Jones but it seems unlikely.
Falcons (also agree they won't wind up in play for the #1) could conceive of drafting Lawrence to apprentice under Ryan for a year or two, what is Ryans contract now anyway?
It's somewhat interesting to me the teams who actually need a new QB and the dynamics for the JETS if they don't have the #1 pick, because whomever does have it could potentially have a really nice auction going on from teams who do covet Lawrence.
By division:
Cowboys, no unless they are willing to let Dak walk.
Eagles, maybe? Wentz has not been good, but is signed through 2025
Redskins, yes Haskins is signed through 2023, but doesn't look like he'll make the leap
Giants, maybe? Jones is also 2023, but seems like the issue with that team are not related to him
Packers, nope even if Rodgers goes they already have their replacement
Vikings, YES, Cousins is also 2023 and no reason to keep him if they can get Lawrence
Bears, HELL YES, Foles is no answer and Trubisky is terrible
Lions, Yes though Stafford still has big money, but is also out in 2023
Saints, YES, Brees is 2022 and they don't have the replacement on the roster (my opinion)
Falcons, maybe but Ryan is signed throguh 2024
Bucs, YES, Brady is obviously short term one thinks
Panthers, YES Bridgewater is 2023
Cards, NO
Rams, doubtful, Goff is 2025
Seahawks, unlikely, though Wilson is 2024, but I'd say NO
49ers, YES Garappolo is 2023 and can't stay healthy
Patriots, YES obviously...
Bills, NO
Dolphins, no idea, but probably not right?
JETS, of course
Ravens, NO
Browns, YES, if they sour on Mayfield, he is 2022
Bengals, NO
Steelers, YES 2022 for Ben
Colts, YES, YES YES!!!!
Jags, YES
Texans, NO
Titans, maybe? Tannehill is through 2024
So there are actually more yes's there than I thought there would be, but some of those teams will be no where close to even a top 10 pick and would have to give up a ton of capital to move up to #1.
