Must be one step per season.

hearing this dude offering lame excuses each week is weirdly entertaining

He did confirm that the Jets (I'm assuming Douglas) wanted to do right by Steve McLendon and send him somewhere that wasn't a dumpster fire for what will likely be his last season.

Good on them for that.

Gase said it's not the start of a fire sale though. Yeah, no crap, there is no one else on this roster any other team could use. Maybe Crowder.

Well, there are (Becton, Williams), but that would be stripping this team down to the rusted beat-up steel frame.

If that happens without size-able pick compensation the GM should be fired too.

Crowder wouldn't be a concerning trade, since he's a replaceable chess piece.

Curious, can the Jets trade opt-out players? CJ Mosley

yeah, I meant trades that would make sense. Can't trade Becton or Quinnen.

Not sure about the ability to trade Opt-Out players.

my quick google search says they can - or at least could at the time this tweet was written -

Considering how strangely they loaded his contract, I don't see Crowder getting traded unless a team is truly desperate.

Most teams eat a lot of money up front but the Jets essentially middle-loaded it.

For anyone to trade anything of value for him, the Jets would probably have to restructure it and move forward some money and then eat it to get any sort of pick in return.

not sure how strange it is. No more GTD money after this year. $10M cap savings if traded.

Not that I'm advocating for him to be traded. I love me some Crowder.

no one that's 'tradeable'. Becton and Q are untouchable.

Possibly, seems the recent landscape has changed on that front.

I guess if someone wanted to give up a 1st and another pick for Q they would

Not Becton. He's the GM's first pick.
