Im w/Oar on this one.

Only my 2c, but im not sure cap is an immediate or near term issue for the Boys

$47.5million in space right now.

SEASON SALARY CAP

    2011 - $120M
    2012 - $120.6M
    2013 - $123M
    2014 - $133M
    2015 - $143.28M
    2016 - $155.27M
    2017 - $167M
    2018 - $177.2M
    2019 - $188.2M

They can free up another:

$4m when/ if they move on from Lee (33 this season?) this year (LVD & Jaylon)
$4m if/when they move on from Hurns
$4m in dead money that comes off after this season

Thats $60million

Plus another $10million to the league cap thatd be $70million in cap space. Less a rookie class this year and next (which offsets the $10m), thats almost 30% of their cap free. That should be plenty, no?

Cowboys Tag Lawrence

The team is “not close” on a new deal for Lawrence, so the $20.56 million tag buys them time to negotiate and keeps him from becoming a free agent. They have until July 15 to get a long-term deal completed.

Lawrence has said he will not play a second consecutive season under the franchise tag. Via PFT

It's building into another Bell type scenario. Dallas should let him walk. Dallas doesn't want to spend what DLaw thinks he's worth. There's too much risk to give him big money.

And then not be on the field for 10 games. It's easier to replace him in March and April then it is in August.

Yup

Dallas already has 2DL starters from last year with indefinite suspensions. Crawford is recovering from a neck injury. DLaw isn't going to sign for what the front office wants him to. It's rebuild the DL year.

IDK this is just me but I dont think dallas is going to draw a line in the sand with this guy to be honest. If hes asking north of 20 million they should let him walk, if its below I think it makes sense.
