We will try this again. The Raiders are fun to denigrate!
Whether you think think Gruden is Captaining the Titanic, or you believe he is the Messiah, here's your spot!

Bears guaranteed Mack $90 mil, including a 34 mil signing bonus + 7 mil 2018 salary (41 mil in cash in first year).
We don’t have all the details of the Brown contract yet, but Brown + Brown + Joyner are a combined 88 mil in guarantees. So if you sign Mack, you’re probably not signing any of the three.
TBrown + Joyner is 24 mil in cash in 2019. Brown’s annual average is 16.7 mil with 30 guaranteed, but don’t know the structure. Probably pushes the “cash on hand” figure higher than Mack’s 41 mil for 2018, but that’s for 3 players instead of 1.
They’re already committed to Carr, and they’re $100 mil in on an offensive head coach. So do you put $90 mil in on defense, or do you play to your strengths and try to increase the value/mitigate sunk cost of Carr’s contract (considering that’s supposed to be your coach’s specialty). Enter Brown + Brown, who again, you probably don’t either of if you keep Mack.
So on the one hand, they obviously had enough cash for Mack because they’re paying out that much to free agents this year. I can’t imagine something appreciably changed in one year, although it’s possible. So the excuse doesn’t totally hold mustard. But I can buy that if they did sign Mack, they’re not making any of these moves. And if the goal is to win on Carr’s arm and Gruden’s coaching, then these moves probably make at least more short-term sense than Mack. Win on offense, shore up your defense enough to stay competitive through picks, and hope that hiring two TV talking heads to run your front office pans out long-term.
I’d rather have Mack though. Because…duh. He’s Khalil freaking Mack.

I sincerely hope that Raider fans can troll this and/or have fun with it without getting upset.
