NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Jaguars owner Shad Khan "loves" Jalen Ramsey and "wants to pay him."

The Jaguars are still expected to trade Ramsey, but this gives some hope the situation can be worked out. Ramsey's issues are with EVP Tom Coughlin and not the coaching staff. If he's not extended, Jacksonville is targeting a pair of first-round picks for the two-time Pro Bowler. Kansas City, the Eagles, Raiders, Ravens, Seahawks and Vikings have been the most aggressive teams linked to Ramsey

So, Khan put the ka-bosh on any trade this week. And wants to talk to Ramsey and his people sometime over the long weekend to see if bridges can be mended.

Maybe this will lead to a pink slip for Coughlin.

Don't get my hopes up.

I hope the emergence of Minshew doesn't all of a sudden make Coughlin and Caldwell look like geniuses to Khan and they're given several more seasons

That's what I was thinking BUT how can you get rid of the guy that drafted Minshew?

Like everyone else in the leeg he passed over him 5 times. He drafted Stache because they literally didn't have a backup to Foles. Not because he liked Stache. This was especially true with what he did immediately after Foles' injury, trading a #5 for someone else's 3rd string QB. Even after watching him play for several months he still felt it necessary to use future capital to get someone else in-house.

I don't know if Coughlin is all that ails this franchise, but shoot flows down hill and he's full of it. His shoot is being dumped on everyone else.

This relationship sure looks like it's beyond repair, so pick a side seems like what's on the table right now. Khan may not make the right choice though.

Guess we will cross our fingers.

Khan has been too patient but he isn't an idiot. He is one of the most successful businessmen out of all the owners. I'm pretty sure he can look at our record and decisions made to see there is a change needed to be made. Just a matter of him making the right decision now.

I wonder how scouts rated the porn-stache during scouting. Did it factor into the Big Board?

I know my brother started Minshew over a better option purely due to the mustache.

We know this but I'm betting Coughlin and his team are selling the powers that be a much better story.

It wouldn't be the first time a bad GM fell backwards into a good QB.

Zero news at all today about him being traded. Hoping between that and the statements from Khan, it is an indication he may not be traded. Guess we will see

Has the Minshew hype gotten this crazy? Hes playing well for a 6th round rookie, but hes hardly Tom Brady back there. He missed a lot of throws, and apprears to really struggle with accuracy when hes forced to throw off platform.

Maybe he improves down the line, but hes hardly a franchise saving QB selection at this point

You sound like a fan of a rival team with a question at quarterback or something

I don't think anyone has said he is Tom Brady or that he is going to be elite or anything. I'm personally just playing by ear, one game at a time.

There is no denying he has looked like one of the best QBs the Jaguars have had in a while. Would you disagree?

I don't understand questioning his accuracy after he just broke a record for that. Our O-line also hasn't been playing well (yesterday was probably the first time they were somewhat decent at pass pro, but still sucked with the run) yet he has still been pretty accurate. He is 3rd in the league actually. Sure, there were a couple throws I saw he missed under pressure but that happens to everyone and he is going to make mistakes. If you saw the game you'll know he should have had more TDs but Westbrook and Lee kept dropping passes.

He isn't just playing well for a 6th round rookie, he is playing well.

I'm in Zuggy's Corner on the Minshew Hype. Watched the whole Game last night and didn't see what everybody else seems to see in him.
He has the Lob Ball down to a science but the rest wasn't that great.
Didn't see much of anything in the 2nd and 3rd Quarter from him
The Mustache and Story are great so.
Just didn't get that warm and fuzzy feeling about his performance to make me want to pick him up or think he's anything more than Average right now

Mariota 22/23 for 302 yards and 2TDs last year vs Houston.. Everyone is questioning his accuracy this season. One spectacular performance does not quell all questions.

DeFlippo is a good coach and has had great production from all of his QBs in recent years. I think Foles is likely having a career year as well if he's not injured. Who knows though, I could just be a jealous fan. We'll see what happens in the future. :thumbright:

Well we've seen him in almost 3 games and to me, he has looked good. I think his floor can be a good backup but I'm starting to come around that his ceiling is being a decent starting QB. Giving some credit to JDF is fair, but definitely have to give Minshew some credit for executing too. Maybe all of that will change later. I agree that we just have to wait and see what happens.
