Is anyone getting email notifications?

I am getting them but they are hours, sometimes even days late, and not in order.

Are they working ok for everyone else?

Yes, but the texts work better if you haven't set that up.

All: I'm taking my son to college, so will have to use my 'Droid on the road until Thursday evening. Shouldn't be too much of a lapse. Have my priorities straight!

After nearly three minutes of evaluation, I've found one team I like almost as much as my own:

Jerric's Browncoats

Luck, Andrew IND QB
Vick, Michael PHI QB
Charles, Jamaal KCC RB
Jennings, Rashad JAC RB
Jones-Drew, Maurice JAC RB
Tate, Ben HOU RB
Jennings, Greg GBP WR
Lloyd, Brandon NEP WR
Wayne, Reggie IND WR
Finley, Jermichael GBP TE

Great team from top to bottom with damn good depth. While others will stuggle though byes and injuries this team is well stocked to compete every week. Shark leagues kill qb value relative to other leagues (I won my shark league last year with a lethal Fitzpatrick/ Tebow combo)but Vick was a steal. Even with and average year from him I like this team to go pretty far in the playoffs. Nice work so far.

And after 4, you changed the team's name to Brought to you by Carl's Jr.?

In terms of your team, I think it's pretty solid. Not sure about Big Ben this year at all, particularly as the QB1. Solid WR corps. Risk at the RB spots, but could be higher if McFadden stays healthy of course, and he "could" be the best fantasy RB this year FWIW. Great value where you got Green. Thought you really reached for Hillis and Rodgers particularly based upon where you could have probably gotten them later. Just my take.

Now that the dust has settled, how'd you do? Which teams do you like best?

It's interesting to share other perspectives and thoughts on how the draft progressed.

I'll go first. Weigh in if you'd like as well!

I think the most objective, unbiased approach I've seen is to use the "FBG Rate My Team" feature. I subscribe to Football Guys and find it well worth the cost. If you've never used this feature, just click your team's name and it will take you through the steps. Just don't forget to change the league settings (i.e. 3 points/passing TD, line ups etc.)

I know we're all great managers  , so using that setting my results were:

"With great inseason management, we think you have about a 80 percent chance of making the playoffs." Says the strengths are at RB and WR. Suspect at the QB spot with Rivers and Freeman. Knew that as I tried to build RB depth early and hoped to get Rivers or Ryan in the 5th or 6th. Didn't happen.

Personally, based upon the kind of work I do, I get "geeked out" and put all this stuff in spreadsheets and have models to assess the best value and rankings. More on that later. Take FBG's rankings and points projections for PPR, our league settings, then do a "value assessment" per category and weight them for an outcome, then that's the final rank. Yours would vary. But, based upon this methodology, I came up with the following items that may be of interest:

Overall Projected Points/Game:

Team Average of PPG
Fear the Spear 12.25
Destroyers 12.00
Sharks w/ Fricken Laser Beams 11.78
Swampgirl 11.68
Santee Sledgehammers 11.68
Bergs Bad Boys 11.55
Graywolves 11.51
catch 22 11.16
Desert Fever 11.13
Badreligionhead 10.96
Jerric's Browncoats 10.77
Brought to you by Carl's Jr. 10.75
Grand Total 11.44

Best By Position:
Position Team Average of PPG
QB Sharks w/ Fricken Laser Beams 21.13
WR Santee Sledgehammers 14.34
TE Graywolves 16.69
RB Destroyers 12.78
K Destroyers 9.06
DEF Destroyers 8.56

Best Value To Rankings:

Fear The Spear 10/16 "Good Values"
Santee Sledgehammers 9/16 "Good Values"
catch 22 9/16 "Good Values"

Individual:
Selection Variance Team Last Name First Name Final Ranking ADP
61 Sharks w/ Fricken Laser Beams Floyd Malcom 93 95
58 Santee Sledgehammers Starks James 121 96
51 catch 22 Witten Jason 67 63
44 catch 22 Blount LeGarrette 198 118
44 Fear the Spear Gerhart Toby 123 106

Biggest Reaches To Rankings:

Graywolves 12/16 Higher
Desert Fever 10/16 Higher
BadReligionhead 10/16 Higher

Individual:
Selection Variance Team Last Name First Name Final Ranking ADP
-95 Jerric's Browncoats Davis Kellen 260 253
-76 Desert Fever Cassel Matt 142 199
-69 Graywolves Falcons Atlanta 210 253
-60 Santee Sledgehammers Miller Lamar 230 219
-59 Sharks w/ Fricken Laser Beams Bullock Randy 180 240

What's it all mean? Nothing really. You might get a "great value" and the player fizzles or gets injured. That "reach" just might be the sleeper of the year. Having to face an Aaron Rodgers, who could put up 40-50 points, even in this format, is pretty scary. And, hitting the wire has as much to do with winning during the course of the season as the draft, maybe more so.

Anyway, it's been fun. Good luck (but not too much) this season!

Nice. Thanks for doing that. Looks like you had a good draft this year. I'm interested to see what Bradshaw does this year. Pettigrew is interesting too with Stafford as his QB. Lots of solid players on your team.
