Back by popular demand! The 5th Annual Kicker/Defense Challenge.

Same rules as last year. You have to join a Yahoo Public league and use your first two draft picks to pick a kicker and defense. Whoever wins their league wins the sand. If you are interested in playing this year, just post in this thread. There will be a $500 sand entry fee and all sand collected will go to the winner.

Anyone who pays is a contestant. There will be no limit to the number of sharks who can play, but every shark can only have one entry. The league id must be posted prior to the draft, and once the draft starts, they are locked into that team. No starting over (unless it gets totally messed up where the first two picks don't go kicker/defense). It must be a public league that everyone can view. If we can't see your league, then you signed up for a private league and that entry will not count.

Whoever goes the furthest wins the pot. If more than one shark wins, the pot will be split between them.

I'll start us off by saying I'm playing. My $500 sand is in. I'll continue to update the first post of this thread as sharks join and drafts begin.

Everyone should be playing in "Competitive" leagues.

You can join the competition right up until the week before the season starts, as long as you post your team name, draft date, and league ID before your draft starts.

Post your league id and team name in this thread so I can add links to the league in this post.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR SIGNING UP FOR A YAHOO PUBLIC LEAGUE

Register on yahoo and then go to http://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/

Click on Join a League.

Then click on Assign to Public.

Then choose Competitive, Live Online Draft, Live Standard Draft, and select the day and time.

Finally, verify that you are in a standard scoring, 10 team league.

That's it! Once you do all this, post your team name and league id # in this thread.

Don't forget, when sending you entry fee ($500sand), make sure you include a message with the donation so that I get confirmation.

absolutely love this challenge... one of my favorite things to do every season. i am in gotta get another 100 sands or so than i will schedule my draft.

edit: got the sands will draft later, got other things on my mind currently like a new job! love this challenge..

Ah man I can't quit laughing thinking about what the other people drafting will say when I draft a kicker & defense with my first 2 picks. I'm in for sure! I will send sands when I set a draft time. :twisted:

I did a mock draft on yahoo to check out their drafting room, I was sadly disappointed there was no chatbox for the draft. I was so looking forward to what comments other drafters would make. Maybe next year we could switch this challenge to a site with chatboxes during the draft and post some of the comments. You know these other guys are like WTH???

Unless they significantly changed the system from last year, there is a live chat in the actual draft.
