Looks like this thread has been asleep since April...let's see if I can get some opinions on a keeper scenario I have for next year from some baseball folks out there...

12 team H2H Each Category League.

Start C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, OF, OF, OF, UTIL, UTIL....P, P, P, SP, SP, SP, RP, RP.
Categories - R, HR, RBI, SB, K's, AVG, OPS.....K's, W, L, SV, HLD, ERA, WHIP

I need to choose three keepers and I lose the round they were drafted in. Plenty of solid options, it'll be tough to get it down to 3...

Carlos Gonzalez (Round 4)
Yoenis Cespedes (Round 5)
Joey Votto (Round 8.)
Trevor Rosenthal (Round 9)
Matt Carpenter (Round 10)
Xander Bogaerts (Round 11)
Brandon Philips (Round 11 - Free Agent)
Eric Hosmer (Round 11 - Free Agent)
Carlos Martinez (Round 11 - Free Agent)
Luis Severino (Round 11 - Free Agent)
Noah Syndergard (Round 11 - Free Agent)
Lance Lynn (Round 13)

Bumping this. Baseball season is approaching. Any baseball people out there have an opinion on picking 3 keepers out of the above list?

I'm not saying who to pick but in general I'd choose value. Check some rankings and start seeing if they are undervalued or overvalued. However if you need to since only 3 keepers you could just swing for the fences and go with highest upside since it's only a few guys.

Joey Votto (Round 8.)

These would be my picks
Tremendous value for Votto
I may be the biggest non-Red Sox, Xander fan in the tank
The 3rd is a toss up between Cespedis and Thor

Just seeing these messages. I'm pretty much set on Bogaerts and Votto....and can't decide between Cespedes and Syndergard. Most of my league mates draft hitters early and often, so I don't know how much that should affect my decision. Kinda think because of that I should keep the hitter (Cespedes).

Any of you know of a shark baseball league with openings?

That's why I leaned to taking the hitter in Cespedes
...but I can absolutely see keeping Syndergard...the 11th is a phenomenal value for him.

The league marty sent you a link to...taking nothing from all the other leagues I am in, including the one I commish... is the best league in the Tank.
25 player keeper..15 man minor league system.

Keeper question for the Tank.

Standard 10-team Yahoo points league, with 3 keepers. We do NOT allow teams to keep any players drafted in the top 30 last year... a one year policy as we were changing over to keeper league. With picks #4 and #17, II should get two strong bats with power to start complementing the pitchers I keep.

Two no-brainers, I'll keep:
- Jake Arietta (costing a 9th round pick as compensation)
- Chris Archer (costing a 16th round pick)

Then which of the following two for my third option?
- Corey Kluber (4th round cost to lock in a third ace!)
- Shawn Tolleson (costs an 18th round pick... great value in a league where closer runs start early)

Appreciate any thoughts on Kluber vs Tolleson at those costs (obviously we know which is the stronger player straight up).
