I was cautiously optimistic about Kubiak being the OC, but I generally was hoping for someone with new ideas and a new offense, so not getting Kubiak I think is a good thing. Getting someone from Reid-Pederson-Reich tree sounds like a good idea.

Donatell (Broncos DC) has been with Fangio a long time. His first choice (allegedly) was Bears DC position, he interviewed for it, but they felt like Pagano was better for the role.

They retained the DL coach. Fangio coached LBs, so they needed a new one. Donatell was passed over, so they need a new DB coach (popular fan favorite is Ed Reed, who was supposed to DC for Pagano in the minor league football league, but we'll see).

I'm really interested to see what Fangio does at HC. I'm honestly not sure he has the chops. I think he's a really great, grizzled old DC a la Rod Marinelli who won't want to play the politics a HC needs to play, and is more a technician than a leader.

On the other hand, Belichick manages the grizzled old defensive mind schtick pretty well, so who knows.
