I agree with this, unless the Titans think they're going to be competitive with Mariota or Tannehill at QB.

Same reason why I'm announcing that I am the Dolphins starting QB in 2019.

edit: not sure why I referred to Marcus as Mario. Mario is as injury proof as one can be. Marcus is not.

The Titans are officially in win now mode after this spending spree so they definitely think they can win with the players on the roster.

The trade is a win win . Tannehill shores up a valuable position for us (back up QB) given Mariotas injury history. And hes not going to cost us a thing this year while he's likely to return some form of compensatory pick when we let him walk in FA

How much did the Dolphins have to give the Titans to take Tannehill?

They pay 5 of his 7 million cap hit this year, and swap their 6th round pick with TEN's 7th.
In 2020 they receive a 4th from TEN.

Very good deal for both sides, especially when you consider the Titans will likely get some form of compensatory pick when they let him walk in the off-season.

It's basically 2 mill for a competent back up QB for TEN (Think what you may of Tannehill... but there's no denying he's a clear upgrade over Blaine Gabbert) and some draft compensation next year for MIA.

I wouldn’t get too excited about a future comp pick

But I would rather have Tannehill as a backup than Gabbert

Agree, it's a bump IRL. Im avoiding most Titans in fantasy for a minute, now. not a Mariotta believer

Excluding last season.

Are *ANY* of the non-Brady AFC starting QBs of the past decade starters anywhere?

He at least has no illusions about being the long-term solution. He's good when he remembers which team he's on. When he forgets, he starts throwing to the wrong players.

First I gave this post a side eye and thought "is this guy an idiot?".

Then I realized you probably meant AFC East... and you might be right.

Fitzmagic was in Buffalo wasn't he? And probably starting in Miami? So... one?

Buffalo and the Jets. He's the only one.

I'm not sure if he counts since he's back to starting in the AFC East, but he started last year too... I don't know.
